Tommie Frazier is a former American football player who was on the rise to become one of the greatest players the game has ever seen. Even though his football career did not last for as long as he would have wanted it to, he indeed made use of the limited chance he got and he has never been forgotten up till today.

Tommie Frazier’s path to greatness
In his school days, Tommie was a force to be reckoned with, he started playing football right from high school where he was an option quarterback and during his last two seasons he ran for 1,600 yards and had 33 touchdowns he also passed for 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns.
After he left high school he went ahead to play for the University of Nebraska Cornhusker team, while he was with them they won championships back-to-back and became one of the most successful quarterbacks in history.
Tommie led his team the Cornhuskers to different football games including the New Year’s Day bowl games which they won four consecutive times. He also helped his team win big matches which put them at top-ranking and they never lost a match while he was with them.
The unfortunate end of his career
His football career ended on the 4th of September 1996 when he fell sick and was admitted to the Montreal Generation Hospital, he had Pneumonia and suffered the issue of blood clots on his leg as a result of a medical condition called Crohn’s disease.
Not being able to keep up with the speed and agility the sport desires and also for the sake of his health, Tommie had to retire from football but he never really left completely he is still known till today as a great football player.

1. Tommie was named the most valuable player of three national championship games, this makes him the only player so far to ever accomplish that.
2. Tommie is said to be a member of a fraternity called the Lota Phi Theta, he also hosts a radio show called Express Radio Show with Tommie Frazier in Omaha, Nebraska.
3. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in the year 2013 for his incredible prowess on the pitch though he didn’t make it the first time, it didn’t bother him for he was sure it will come in good time.
4. His role models are Tumer Gill and Tom Osborne, according to him watching them over the years has shaped his life positively for they are embodiments of faith, family and hard work.
5. After his hospitalisation and subsequent retirement, Tommie took a job and became a football coach but sadly he hated the job and according to him felt lost and miserable and so he eventually left to do what makes him happy.

After his early retirement from football, he called his mother and told her he was coming back home to stayed and that he missed her and was homesick but his mother told him he was welcome to come back but she was not going to let him stay in her house. Strangely this act from his mother pushed him to move on with his life and not wallow in self-pity.
7. The two most important things to Tommie is first of all God (his faith) and family, for he mentioned in an interview that he would be lost without the two and can’t do without them.
8. Tommie’s wife Andrea works with an organisation called MADD ( Mothers Against Drunk Driving) as a court monitoring program specialist. The organisation takes care of victims of drunk driving helping them through their dark times helping them to fight for justice if they so wish or just being a friend to them.
Where is Tommie Frazier today?
Tommie worked as a coach for some time but then left to do something different with his life. Presently he works as a president of a construction company in Omaha, Florida. He said in an interview that he prefers his current job as he is happy and content with life and his job.
Tommie is presently in his forties and has the rest of his life to live, he enjoys a net worth of about $500,000 which he most likely made from his football career and subsequent jobs.
