The Brazillian footballer was born Andressa Alves da Silva on 10 November 1992 in São Paulo, Brazil to her father João Batista and her mother, Yolanda Alves. She was brought up in Brazil alongside her siblings including her sisters Anastasya Gabriel and Ana Gabriela Alves, as well as her brother, Abner Alves.
She started playing football at an early age before she got to play for CA Juventus until 2010 when she joined Foz Cataratas where her professional career started in earnest. In the years that followed, she got the chance to play for different clubs including Centro Olímpico until 2013 when she joined Ferroviária briefly. Next, she played for São José from 2013 to 2014, and then she spent 2015 with Boston Breakers.
