Quinn is a Canadian professional soccer player who made the rounds as the first transgender player in the Olympics. They also pushed as the first transgender Olympic medalist. Quinn plays midfield for OL Reign and the Canadian women’s national team.

Rebecca Quinn was born in Toronto, Canada on August 11, 1995. Their parents, Bill and Linda Quinn were into sports. Their mother was a basketball player at the University of Waterloo. While their father played Rugby for western Ontario. Quinn is currently 30 years old.

They have three sisters, Lauren, Erin, and Jillian. Lauren participated in swimming in western Ontario between 2009-2011. Jillian also plays soccer. She was on the soccer team at Northeastern University.

They attended Havergal College in Toronto. After high school, Quinn moved to Duke University.

Quinn lived as a trans with those that are close to her. They came out as non-binary in 2020 through their Instagram page. Ever since Quinn is still playing in the women’s league. This is due to their sex and not their gender identity.

They continue pushing for acceptance of their transgender identity in the media.

Quinn loves putting their pictures on social media to share their happy moments. Yet, they are not married. In an Instagram post, they wished they were dating someone.

1.Quinn Soccer Career

They started their youth career at North Toronto SC. They rounded the youth leagues through Richmond Hill and Erin Mills Eagles Sc.

Between 2013-2017, Quinn played collegiate for the Duke Blue Devils. They helped the team secure 8 goals in 68 matches they appeared in.

Moving forward, their senior career flagged off at the Toronto Lady Lynx in 2013 but did not net any goal while there.

Quinn was drafted to the Washington Spirits and made 17 appearances. After one season there, they signed to Paris FC in 2019.

They returned to OL Reign in 2019 and is currently on loan to Vittsjo GIK.

So far Quinn represented the national team between 2012 to present. They appeared in different categories for the national team.

2.Quinn Is The First Open Transgender Medalist

While the Canadian team met opponents on the field, Quinn dashed to give Canada a medal. Coming out in 2020 was courageous for the athlete.

Quinn uses ‘they’, ‘them’, and ‘their’ pronounce to describe themselves.

As the first open transgender, Quinn secured a medal for Canada in The Tokyo Olympics. They regret that other trans athletes never got the opportunity to come out of the closet. Many trans-gender athletes have been hiding. While some were restricted from competing for different reasons.

3.Quinn Was Born Female

Quinn’s assigned sex from birth was female and she was Rebecca. They have tried fighting off the media to address them with their names and pronouns.

Currently, their name appears without a first name on the Canadian team roster. It appears as Quinn.

They want to be visible figure to younger trans people.

Apart from being trans, they love biting their nails.

4.The Highest Drafted Canadian In The NWSL

Quinn made history as the highest-drafted Canadian in the 2018 college draft. They were the third final pick by the Washington Spirits.

5.Quinn Influenced Other Transgender Athletes To Come Out

Their decision to come out made other athletes come out. Kumi Yokoyama an international soccer player also came out because of Quinn. Kumi came out as a trans man. He had played for Japan women’s team and was part of the lineup for the Olympic roster. Kumi plays for Washington spirits.

Other trans athletes are Hubbard who almost did not make it to the Olympics due to anti-trans lobbying.

Trans athletes that are open at Tokyo Olympics are Chelsea Wolfe and Alana Smith. Smith is non-binary like Quinn.

6. Quinn’s Jersey No 5 Is In Rainbow Colors

Quinn’s jersey no 5 is in rainbow colors against the usual red on the women’s national team. Wearing the rainbow No. 5 gives her trans identity a place.

Their jersey is the only one with rainbow colors.

7. Some Of Their Awards

They played the Algarve Cup for team Canada in 2016and the Four Nations Cup in 2015.

Quinn was part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio. They won the 2020 Olympics in Japan after defeating Sweden in the finals.

They make their net worth from their professional soccer career. The exact net worth of Quinn is not known. As an accomplished athlete, it will be a good amount.
