Terry Gannon is an ex-collegiate baseball and basketball player, a veteran sports broadcaster and analyst; as well as a husband and dedicated father to his children.
Unlike most young athletes in America who dream from a very young age to become famous and rich superstars in the field of sports, Terry chose willingly to either become a coach or a sportscaster. Ultimately and after making consultations with mentors that he trusted completely, Terry decided to both analyze and run commentaries on notable sporting events as his career.
He comments on sporting events such as golf, figure skating, ice dancing, and in recent past college football and basketball. He is known to be very versatile and knowledgeable as a sportscaster. He is indeed a very unique individual; very early in his life, his mother who had a passion for training and mentoring tap dancers, influenced him to learn ballet dancing for four years.

Terrance Patrick Gannon was born on November 1, 1963, in Joliet, Illinois, in the United States of America. His father was a high school basketball coach – he taught Terry all he knew about basketball, and his mother was a tap-dancing instructor.
Terry attended Joliet Catholic High School in Illinois where his father was coaching, and he played both basketball and baseball extremely well, making the all Chicago team selection and graduated in 1981.
He thereafter got admission to study History at North Carolina State University (NCSU), Raleigh, North Carolina. He played college basketball under Coach J. Valvano and his great performances earned him the title of NCSU’s leading free-throw shooter of all time.
He was also in the school’s team that won the NCAA title in 1983; Terry was the best 3 point shooter in the whole of the United States for that year.
After graduating from college in 1985, he worked as a trainee coach under Coach Valvano for a year; his aim was to become a coach himself, but listened to Valvano’s advice to his players about not making their life all about basketball, he opted for sportscasting instead.
Terry began honing his sports analysis and casting skills on Coach Valvano’s Radio and Television show in 1987. He also worked for the Charlotte Knights baseball team as an announcer till 1990.
He joined the ABC channel as a sports commentator in 1991, covering sports like ski jumping, cross country races, and basketball. He thereafter worked for ESPN (part of ABC and ESPN’s merger) till 2010, making analysis and running commentaries about college basketball and football.
Gannon has not looked back since then, as he has gone on to work for other sports channels and international sports bodies.
Is He Married? Who is the Wife?
Terry is happily married to his wife and confidant, Lisa Gannon. They have been married for a while, and their marriage is blessed with two beautiful children. Their first child is a boy named Jake Gannon, while they also have a daughter, Madeleine Gannon.
Sources close to the couple claim that Lisa has been Terrys’ one and only true love, and his hearts’ desire. Lisa has been the one and only woman that Terry has dated, little wonder why he quickly married her. The exact duration of their courtship is not known; neither are the ages of their children.
The Gannon family has chosen to keep that information to themselves. The family, or more specifically Terry, does share pictures of the family together quite often; and despite his tight schedules and extensive works hours, he always spends time with his family, as he holds them very close to his heart.
