Shannon Spake is an American sportscaster that has gone the rounds of reporting speed racing on NASCAR, ESPN among many others. She was born on July 23, 1976, in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Her mother worked three jobs as a single mother to bring her up. Her father is reportedly a ww2 veteran and a silver star recipient. Shannon is currently 48 years old.
She overcame scoliosis and lived an active athletic life. Right from her days at Piper High School, Shannon was active in sports. Shannon attended Broward College on a swimming grant.
She transferred to Florida Atlantic University(FAU) for further studies. She graduated with a degree in communications. Shannon interned in 1999 on the Neil Rogers WQAM after which her career in the media took off.

She married Jerry McSorley on April 14 2008 in Ireland. The wedding reception was held at Adare Manor Shannon and her husband have been able to balance life outside of media cameras.
The two first met on Valentine’s day after Spakes’s sister set them up on a date. Jerry is a supportive partner especially when Shannon travels for work. Shannon does not cook but her husband does.
Shannon’s husband is reportedly a businessman and a mechanical engineer who has worked as the CEO of Eye Tax Inc. for more than a decade. He has also worked at Sagebrook Homes and Red Clay Development.

1. Shannon Spake Was Diagnosed With Scoliosis At Age 9
She is the poster person for bravery above fear. Shannon was diagnosed with scoliosis in her preadolescence years. At the age of 13, she underwent a surgical procedure. As part of the procedure for her treatment, she carried two poles in her back.
The diagnosis prevented her from participating in many sporting activities. This made her choose swimming, a nonimpact sport.
Not to be stopped by health challenges relating to her diagnosis, Shannon swam competitively throughout her high school. To date, she still carries the two rods on her back.
2. She Participated In Many Ironmans
Shannon participated in many long-distance races and finished in three. In 2014, the direction of life changed to include endurance sports. She ran her first triathlon. The following year, she competed in an Olympic triathlon.
Aside from that, she competed in five half-Ironman events leading to placement as the foundation’s ambassador in 2018. The first half-Ironman or 70.3 she competed in was in 2016.
She is not slowing down with the different triathlons she participates in. Shannon does 19-mile or more jogs to keep up with her endurance routines.

She is a blessed mom juggling her career and raising her two adorable boys, Liam and Brady. While on the road with teams, she focuses on the work so that she can have lots of time with the boys.
