Sara Del Rey is a former professional wrestler whose career ran from 2001 to 2012. One of the big names in the world of female wrestling, she was once named among the best 50 in the ring in the PWI Female 50 in 2012. After her retirement from fighting, she has moved to professional wrestling trainer.
She started her career in the independent promotion where she spent up to a decade before finally making it to the WWE. Del Rey slugged it out in promotions such as Chikara, Ring of Honor, and Shimmer, before signing in 2012 to the WWE.

Although the wrestler is popular by her ring name Sara Del Rey, it is as Sara Ann Amato that she was born on November 13, 1980, in Martinez, California. It was also here that she was brought up.
Her love for wrestling is something she has sustained since she was only a child. Sara watched Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior as she grew, describing them as some of her favorite. She would sit and watch it with her cousins and uncle, but then her mother forced her to stop watching it because she believed the young Del Rey was taking it all too serious.
But then, her interest would return again, this time even stronger when she was in high school. It was at this time that she realized she wanted becoming a professional wrestler more than anything else.
After she was through with her high school education, she got admitted into college but she soon discovered she had no love for it as her main calling seemed to be wrestling. Because of this, she called it quits and decided to pursue her passion. She looked for wrestling schools before settling for the All Pro Wrestling Boot Camp.
Next, she was off to Japan where at the time, there was more dedication to wrestling as compared to the United States where it was on a decline. After Japan, she moved again to Mexico to improve herself some more. In Mexico, she competed wearing a mask before she was later forced to unmask. She went by the ring name Nic Grimes.
In 2005 she fought for Shimmer Women Athletes and would continue until 2012. Almost at the same period, from 2006 to 2012, she also wrestled for Chikara where she became a fan favorite. It was also the same point that she slugged it out in the Ring of Honor (ROH).
In her career, she has accomplished a lot including a CWR Women’s Championship title, IZW Women’s Championship, SUN Championship, RPW Women’s Championship, and ROH Undisputed World Intergender Heavyweight Tag Team Championship which she won with Chris Hero.

Sara Del Rey continued with her fight in various promotions and then in 2012, she signed a deal with WWE. After only a few months in the promotion, she had risen into becoming the first ever female trainer in WWE. This time around, she has gone back to using her real name, Sara Ann Amato.
Trained by Donovan Morgan and Daniel Bryan, she has come to train and work with many divas through the years including Charlotte and Sasha Banks.

When it comes to her love life, Sara Amato has not been very busy in that department. She has not publicly dated many men in the past. In fact, she has only been linked to Claudio Castagnoli in 2011. There are reports that the two are still dating, which means that Sara Del Rey is still not married.
