Tara Gins rode for quite a number of UCI-registered teams from 2016 to 2020. She was offered the role of sports director of the men’s under-23 team but the offer was withdrawn after her nude pictures were seen by the council.
The racing cyclist has competed professionally for Lares-Waowdeals and also Health Mate-Cyclelive Team. She has since retired from racing and has shared a couple of misconducts that have affected her career.

The Belgian cyclist was born on December 2, 1990, to her parents. Gins is a really private person and has not shared details about her family or her educational background. However, she has shared a photo of herself and her father, appreciating him for supporting her in her career. Gins reportedly grew up with her father after her parents divorced.

She Started Racing at the Age of 16
While growing up, Tara’s father was a racer so he taught her how to race since she was just a child. After she told her father she wanted to race too, he got her a bike and signed her up with a new cycling team in Liedekerke even though the sport was only for men.
As she continued perfect her cycling skills, she preferred to train with boys from her school than her peers.

Following a successful career at Lares-Waowdeals, Health Mate-Cyclelive Team, and Memorial-Santos squads, Tara Gins also worked for Belgian amateur team S-Bikes AGU as Directeur sportif.
According to reports, Tara Gins had a verbal agreement to start working for a team as a sports director on a men’s team. She was to work with young athletes and elites.
However, she later received news that the offer had been canceled because someone had made a problem out of her nude photos. Meanwhile, the cyclist claimed the photos were harmless and should not be a problem.
There were allegations that the person who saw the photos threatened the manager to send the pictures to one of the sponsors. On her own part, Gins said the calendars were only sent to their company customers so they can not be found online.
Tara Gins claimed the people who refused her the job are also guilty of having double standards.
She Has Been Married Since 2021
Based on her Instagram posts, Tara Gins tied the knots with her long-time lover, Fraser J. Turgoose,30, on November 6, 2021. Her partner is equally a cyclist as per his Instagram bio.
Tara Gins’s husband is from Great Britain. The couple does not have children yet but Gins seems to be a dog mom. She regularly shares photos of herself and her dog cycling or just taking a walk.

Tara Gins Has Allegedly Been Assaulted in the Past
Tara Gins revealed she experienced so many negative things with her team leader or soigneurs. When she was still a cyclist, she shared that a mechanic crept into the shower with her after a workout.
Gins’ other instance was when she was forcefully kissed by someone on the staff. She revealed she had to push the person away from her. Aside from the physical assaults, she has also received inappropriate comments from team managers regarding her looks and weight.
The ex-professional cyclist and four unnamed riders wrote an open letter describing their experiences in 2019. Later on, several riders of the Health Mate Ladies team came forward to corroborate the complaints of abuse and inappropriate behavior leveled against the manager of the team.
In 2020, the manager of the team, Patrick Van Gansen was found guilty of ethics violations. On his part, Van Gansen has rejected all allegations of abuse and inappropriate behavior but the International Cycling Union has suspended him for two years until the end of 2022.
Tara Gins Reportedly Rode for Free Throughout Her Career
During an interview, the ex-cyclist revealed she was on a professional team but never got a salary. She revealed her equipment, travel, and accommodation expenses were fully paid for but not a regular salary.
Apparently, the riders can only get paid if they had any signed contract if not then only allowances were given to them.
