The celebrity couple first made their relationship public as back as 2008 but it took them many years to have their own child together. Dwayne and Gabrielle Union, well known for her roles in Breaking In and Bring It On among many others had their daughter, Kaavia through surrogacy.
Gabrielle Union 53, Kaavia’s mother had fertility issues and tried severally to get pregnant via IVF but it all failed. Sadly, before she came to terms with surrogacy, Gabrielle had already lost about 8 to 9 pregnancies. Dwyane and Gabrielle chose a white woman named Natalie as their surrogate. Kaavia’s birth brought to an end Gabrielle’s struggle with getting pregnant.
Kaavia James Union Wade has a clothing line launched after her named Shady Baby. The clothing line which was launched in 2021 has spawned into a children book that her mother published. The book, Shady Baby bases its stories around Kaavia and it also gained recognition after becoming a New York Times bestseller.
The joy of having Kaavia has helped to reduce the painful challenge of trying to conceive even as Kaavia’s parents pour their love to their daughter.

5. Dwyane Raised His Nephew, Dahveon Morris As His Child

Dwyane may have his shortcomings but the love he has for his children and nephew cannot be described. He trained his sister’s son, Dahveon as his own child. Dahveon who also took up after his uncle played on the same high school basketball team as his cousin, Zaire while they were going up.
Reportedly, Dahveon became Dwyane’s ward after he won a full custody of the growing child in 2011. Dahveon’s mum has parental rights to her son but after considering the gains of her son growing up with her brother, she allowed him to stay with Dwyane. Moreso, Dahveon and his cousin were very close which made the decision easier.
