His father is a youth basketball enthusiast and co-owner of Valley Elite Hoops, a nonprofit foundation that provides a platform for young athletes to hone their skills, develop their mindset, and give their best in basketball. While his mother is a training and development specialist, a corporate PFS trainer, and a graduate of healthcare administration, she is also the owner of a teeth whitening outfit, FANCYthatGlo.
The 22-year-old has 4 half-siblings, Janessa Terry, Tre Terry, Isaiah Terry, and Olivia. They all come from his parents’ previous relationships. The Phoenix Native’s Basketball Journey Began In High School
Dalen Terry had a spectacular high school basketball career which first started when he was attending Corona del Sol High school in Tempe, Arizona. Subsequently, he transferred to Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix where he spent two years playing incredibly averaging 15.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 3.7 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game.
As a result, he became one of the top recruits in the 2020 class. He became the first in his 2020 class to commit to college basketball in July 2019 when he committed to the Arizona Wildcats after receiving several offers from other programs such as Arizona State, Arkansas, California, USC, and Utah.
Terry didn’t have much of an impact in his first year at Arizona after averaging 4.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game from 26 games. However, there was an improvement in his second year after 38 games, he averaged 8.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. More so, he was named to Pac-12 All-Defensive First Team due to his defensive performances.
By 2021, he was instrumental to the Wildcats’ successes; winning the 2021 Roman Main Event, Pac-12 Conference Regular Season, and also the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Dalen Terry’s parents ended their marriage when he was barely 9. Although there are no reports of that, an Instagram post shared by his mother in May 2020 points to this fact. She said 10 years ago she traveled to Hawaii to sort herself regarding the finalization of her divorce, however, she didn’t mention who she was divorcing.
