Jon Jay, born Jonathan Henry Jay, is a retired professional baseball player. He was born on March 15, 1985, in Miami, Florida, after his parents moved to the US from Cuba.
Jon attended George Washington Carver Middle School, Coral Gables, and Christopher Columbus High School, Miami Dade County, Florida.
He began to play baseball while he was still in high school, and In 2003, while he was in his senior year, he played on the state championship-winning team.
