Meet His Family Members
As earlier stated, Alex has kept his romantic life private but has left his family life open. Although their names are not stated, the sportsman has said a handful about his parents and the cordial relationship he has with them. In an interview, Alex revealed that he grew up alongside his parents and siblings in Favela and his father used to be a bricklayer while his mother was a housewife.
He said his family had financial struggles while he was growing up and he did not have the chance to complete his education. Consequently, Alex had to drop out of school at the age of 12 and started working in a tire shop.
Along the line, Alex and his brother developed a bad drinking and party life that often got in the way of their parents. However, he started training in martial arts in 2009 so that he could overcome his addiction.
His Younger Sister is Also a Mixed Martial Artist
Alex Pereira’s younger sister, Aline Silva Pereira is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former kickboxer, currently competing in the flyweight division of LFA. Aline, 35, is a one-time Glory Super Bantamweight title challenger having fought Tiffany van Soest for it in 2021. She has been active since 2017 and her brother is her super fan.
Similarly, Pereira who currently competes in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a former Glory middleweight and lightweight heavy champion. In February 2021, he was ranked #1 in the kickboxing middleweight and light-weight having made his professional career debut in 2015.
