Jordan Morris’ family members are his parents, Michael, and Leslie Morris, and his three siblings Christopher, Julian, and Talia. Besides the love and support of his family, Morris has that of his wife, Eliza Blanchette whom he married in 2021 after dating for more than 4 years.

The 30-year-old winger currently plays the Seattle Sounders FC where his father worked as the chief director of the club. Prior to joining the club, Morris played soccer at Mercer Island High School the same school he attended.

Morris was born to his parents Dr. Michael Morris and Leslie Morris in Seattle Washington. Dr. Michael is an Orthopedic surgery specialist in Seattle. He has more than four decades of experience in the medical field.

Jordan’s father is a graduate of the University of Washington Orthopedic residency program and also the Kerlan Jobe Sports Medicine program. He was formerly the team physician for the Seattle Sounders team and he specialized in arthroscopic surgery, knee reconstruction, ACL, shoulder arthroscopy, and reconstruction.

Dr. Morris is affiliated with Virginia Mason Medical Center Seattle. Morris’s mother Leslie Morris is a trained nurse. She was the one that first suspected Jordan had type 1 diabetes during Christmas celebrations in 2003 when the soccer player was only 9.

After the diagnosis, Jordan Morris’ parents took him to his games and even watch over him. His father particularly helped him plan his nutrition and exercise routine.

The Seattle-born Player Has Three Siblings

Jordan Morris’ three siblings are Christopher, Julian, and Talia. His oldest brother Christopher played soccer at Seattle Pacific from 1992 to 2012 as a midfielder. Christopher attended Mercer Island where he was active in the school’s DECA program in which he became a two-time regional champion. Also, he was a three-letterman at Mercer Island with 13 goals and 13 assists.

He also served as the Islanders team captain. He later played for the Eastside FC club team. While Jordan Morris and his brother are athletic, it is uncertain if the same can be said of his two siblings Julian and Talia.

Jordan Morris married Eliza Blanchette on October 10, 2021, in Big Sur California USA after dating for close to four years.

Jordan Morris’ wife is the daughter of Frank Blanchette and his wife, Kate. She has two siblings, Nick and Ava.

Eliza worked as a marketing and communications intern at Value Retail China in Shanghai before she became the director of recruitment at Delta Gamma. She graduated from Santa Clara University in 2017 with a degree in Communications.

She also spent one semester at Loyola University’s John Felice Rome Center in Chicago.

At the moment, the couple is yet to welcome any child but they share a sheepadoodle puppy called Maisie.

Other Interesting Facts about Jordan Morris

1. The Former Eastside Player Began His Youth Career in 2004

The Mercer Island alum started his youth career at Eastside FC where he played in the Under-11 to U17 from 2004 and 2012. While he was there, he helped his team win six Washington State titles which earned him the title of the Best XI in 2011 the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships Best in 2011 and 2012. He also became the Golden Ball winner that same period.

Before he joined the Sounders FC youth academy, he was named NSCAA Washington State Player of the Year and NSCAA High School All-American in 2012.

He soon signed a letter of intent to play college soccer at Standford University and during his freshman year, he appeared in 21 matches and had six goals which helped his team to win their first NCAA Tournament after winning in 2009.

Throughout his junior year, Morris scored 13 goals and had 3 assists. He also led the Cardinal to both the Pac-12 and the NCAA Championships. On January 8, 2016, the soccer player was awarded the Hermann Trophy for being the best player in NCAA Division I soccer.

Despite speculations that he might not be able to play professionally, Jordan Morris revealed he was forfeiting his senior season at Stanford to start playing professionally. He then signed a homegrown player contract with Seattle Sounders FC and made his debut on February 9, 2016.

Morris scored his first major league Soccer goal for the Sounders on April 16, 2016, against the Philadelphia Union. He helped his team to win the MLS Cup in 2017 before collapsing untouched during the Sounders’ first match of the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. He missed the entire 2018 MLS season but his contract was still renewed in December 2018.

Upon his return, he was named the MLS Comeback Player of the Year.

He was loaned to Swansea City for the remainder of the 2020-21 EFL Championship season. However, after making his debut, he sustained an injury on his left knee which forced him to miss the club’s matches. Subsequently, his loan stint was untimely terminated.

2. Jordan Morris was Named to the US Squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The soccer player joined the U.S men’s national team at the age of 22 in 2013. He scored his first goal against Mexico in an international friendly. On January 21, 2022, Jordan received his first World Cup Qualifying call-up. He was later named to be on the US squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after he recovered from an injury.

At the moment, Jordan was the first person with Type 1 Diabetes to play for the National Soccer Team as well as in Major League Soccer.

3. The Soccer player and His family Run the Jordan Morris Foundation Together

Jordan Morris is the founder of the Jordan Morris Foundation (JMF). The player has admitted that diabetes has been a big part of his life but he has not allowed it to define him.

He has channeled his passion to make sure it does not define other children living with the same sickness. Hence he started the foundation which is aimed at educating, inspiring, and supporting young people dealing with the disease.

4. Jordan Morris Comes from a Close-Knitted Family

However, what is certain is that all his siblings were protective of him while he was growing up. They all encouraged him to pursue his dreams as well.  All the siblings grew up in a close-knitted family.

5. How Rich is Jordan Morris?

There are sources that claim Morris was one of the highest-earning footballers while he was at Seattle Sounders. His salary at the club was $1,370 monthly. Furthermore, it has been reported that Major League Soccer teams have a salary cap of $4.9 million.

Currently, Jordan Morris’s net worth is estimated to be around $1 million. Besides his soccer career, he has other endorsements which have boosted his income. His Instagram bio states that he is a Nike athlete.
