Keira Walsh was born Keira Fae Walsh on the day of 8th April 1997. The Manchester City midfielder was born in Rochdale, England. It was also here that she grew up with her family.
Being the only child of her parents, she was shown immense love as a young girl. She was inspired by her dad to play football as she often trained with him right from the tender of 5. Her passion for the game was developed from this tender age and she grew up to live her dream of playing football.
Keira had her primary school education in Rochdale. It is not quite certain if she had any high school or college education.
Professional Football Career
Unlike most female footballers who often joined one football club or the other at the beginning of their careers, Keira’s professional football career started off with her country’s national team when she was invited to join the U-15 England National Women’s team in November 2009 while she was 12 years old. Since then she has represented England in several competitions.
By November 2013, she featured in the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship, helping England to advance into the knockout stage and finishing in fourth place. She was also featured in the 2019 SheBelieves Cup, helping England win the title.
It was in 2017 that she progressed into joining the senior England Women’s team. From her first call-up into the national team to this period, she had featured in over 40 games for England scoring only one goal.
As regards her club career, it started fully in July 2014 when she joined the English side Manchester City. Keira made her debut in City when she came in as a substitute during the match against Notts County that ended up 1-0 in favor of City. She also featured in the 2014 continental Cup which Manchester City later won.
Keira scored her first goal for the club on November 9, 2016, in the match against Brøndby IF which became the only winning goal of the match that ended 1-0. The game was part of the Champions League’s last 16 first-leg games. She later renewed her contract with City some days after her first goal.
While with City, she has helped the club to win several titles, notable amongst them were the FA WSL in 2016 as well as the FA WSL Cup of both 2014 and 2016 including the FA Women’s Cup of 2016–17 season.

However, Lucia presently plays as a defender for Olympique Lyonnais.
