Nigerian Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was born into the family of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Osimhen and has five older siblings among whom are Andrew, Blessing, and Esther. While growing up, the 25-year-old lost his mother, and later his father in 2020 when he was 21.
Osimhen shares a strong bond with the members of his immediate family, especially his older brother Andrew who sacrificed his football career for him, and his immediate older sister Blessing reckoned for buying him a JAMB examination form for enrollment into the Nigerian higher education system.
Even though there is a dearth of information on his parents, siblings, and other family members, here is what we have been able to gather about them.
Who Are Victor Osimhen’s Parents?
As indicated, very few details exist on the internet about the parents of Victor Osimhen, nevertheless, available information reveals his parents originated from Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, in Southern Nigeria.
His father Patrick Osimhen and his mother moved to Lagos State in search of a better standard of life for their family. It was in Olusosun, Lagos that they gave birth to Victor Osimhen on December 29, 1998, as the youngest of their six children.
As the story goes, Osimhen’s parents still struggled to fend for the family. At the time, his mother sold sachet water to get extra money to cater to their family’s needs. Sadly, she passed away when the striker was still tender. Besides, there is no information indicating what caused her death.
Moving forward, Osimhen’s father continued with his life after the death of his wife and didn’t bother to marry again. He focused more on his family and helped with the building of his son’s career in the initial stages.
In some quarters, he was regarded as his son’s manager, and there was a time in 2015 when rumors emerged that he was beaten by thugs for refusing his son to transfer to the German club VLF Wolfsburg. He ended up with a broken arm before he was rushed to the hospital. However, the parties concerned later denied sending thugs to attack the striker’s father.
Five years later, Osimhen’s father Patrick Osihmen died in Lagos State, Nigeria, at the age of 80 after a brief illness. The news of his passing was announced by the former Lille striker on his verified Twitter handle with the words:
RIP Dad. No Words to describe this feeling
He was buried in June 2020.

How Many Siblings Does Victor Osihmen Have?
According to reports, the Super Eagles striker has 5 older siblings as indicated earlier. However, only the names and identities of 3 are known; Andrew Osimhen, Blessing Osimhen, and Esther Okolo.
Below is a brief on each of them.
- Andrew Osimhen
Andrew Osimhen is the oldest brother of the striker and the first child of the Osimhen family. Even though the year of his birth is not known at the time of this writing, he was before his family relocated to Lagos States from Edo State.
Andrew was a footballer who played for an amateur football club in Lagos State, but he quit to help take care of the family when his father lost his job. He sacrificed his career and went looking for a job to find a means for his family’s sustenance. He first started as a vendor selling newspapers in the traffic in Ojota.
Osimhen’s big brother revealed in an interview that he and his siblings grew up under terrible conditions in Olusosun, and it was a life of every man for himself, but he wanted his younger to have a different experience.
When his mother passed away, he left Olusosun and moved to Ikorodu, and wanted Victor and Blessing to go with him, but they refused. His dream was for Victor to go to school since he was unable to further, but his younger brother had set his eyes on pursuing a footballing career.
In the beginning, he didn’t like the idea of Victor just focusing on football alone, but when it became obvious that that was what his brother wanted, he supported him.
- Esther Okolo
Esther Okolo is the older sister of Victor Osimhen. She is married to a man named Osita.
A little of what is known about her revolves around her younger brother’s career. Sometimes in 2022, she allegedly accused Victor of refusing to pay her husband €69,000 and $439,000 (N217 million). She made the allegation in a live Instagram session with Nigerian broadcaster and TV host Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze.
She revealed that the debt came to be when Victor and her husband worked together before going their separate ways. Her husband also corroborated the claims, but the Super Eagles striker reacted and called them amazing actors.
- Blessing Osimhen
Blessing Osimhen is the immediate older sister of Victor Osimhen. She celebrates her birthday on August 10 every year.
Blessing and her younger brother are pretty very close. The level of their closeness is seen in the way they share pictures of each other on their social media pages. As captured, she bought a JAMB examination form for her brother so he could sit for the exam and get the chance to go to the university, but he refused to do it and instead focused on pursuing his football career.
On her own part, she went to school, furthering to the higher institution level, and did her one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) program after graduation. She currently runs an online fashion store called “Ladyb Closet”.
