Anthony Hernandez, a native of Dunnigan has been competing as a Middleweight with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his amateur debut in 2010 having been training since the age of 15. One of his achievements as an amateur includes being a six-time champion and being ranked No. 1 in the ISCF MMA world rankings.
Hernandez started wrestling in high school and later in college, and he dropped out to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. During his early career, the fighter was penalized 15% of his purse and suspended for 6 months after he tested positive for marijuana.
Who is Anthony Hernandez?
American mixed martial artist, Anthony Hernandez was born on October 18, 1993, in Dunnigan California.
He attended Woodland High School and while he was there, he was known as an amateur wrestler. However, he was later kicked out of the team due to bad grades.
Apparently, Hernandez went to college for a month or two before he dropped out with the belief that fighting is her calling, not school.

He Made His Amateur Debut in 2010
While growing up, Anthony Hernandez and his friends used to fight each other playfully but his father advised them to go to the gym to train there.
When he was 15, the Dunnigan native started training and in 2010, he made his debut during Ring of Fire 1 facing Michael Green Jr. After winning the fight, he stood the chance of fighting for the King of Cage Amateur Middleweight title against Justin Jones, which he lost.
He also won the Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight title in 2018 during a fight against Brendan Allen. The 31-year-old fighter also fought under the banner of Dana White’s Contender Series 10. He won his fight against Jordan Wright but the fight was declared a no-contest because he and his opponent tested positive for marijuana.
For that reason, Anthony Hernandez was penalized 15% of his fight purse(about $750) including $145.36 in attorney fees. The two fighters were given identical suspensions and fines. They were suspended for six months from the competition. Of the two fighters, only Hernandez was officially signed to a UFC deal.
During that period, Hernandez’s father, Hugo passed away from a lung disease. Hugo, who was said to be the fighter’s support system and best friend was described as a gangster and a very supportive father.
Since he made his UFC debut on February 2, 2019, Fluffy as he is also known, has faced quite a number of MMA fighters like Jun Youg Park, Kevin Holland, Punahele Soriano, and Marc-Andre Barriault. His MMA career record is currently 10-2-1.
Anthony Hernandez is Married to Kristie Hernandez
Anthony Hernandez’s wife Kristie is also an athlete. She also doubles as his co-manager as well. As per Kristie’s Instagram, they have been married for 7 years.
They have four children: Aaliyah14, Domenick (11, Raphael, and Catalina,6. The fighter once revealed in an interview that his children named their pig pet after him.
