Stacey Dales Biography, Family
Stacey Dales was born on September 5, 1979, in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada to a father identified as Jim Dales and a mother called Heather Dales. However, she grew up in Brockville, Ontario with her brother, Burke Dales who was a football player.
According to reports, Stacey Dales developed a strong passion for the game of basketball right from her childhood days and she decided to make a career out of it much later in her life.
With regards to her education, Stacy had her high school in Thousands Islands Secondary School Ontario. While in High School, Stacey joined the school’s female basketball team which was popularly called the Pirates Ladies. She happened to be one of the key players of the team who helped the team to achieve popularity for winning several High School Senior Girls Basketball Championship Titles before her graduation in 1997. After she graduated from high school and was then accepted into the University of Oklahoma.

Stacey Dales started playing basketball from her high school days. She played for her school’s team the Pirates Ladies, and she was instrumental in making the team to win the AA High School Senior Girls Basketball Championship thrice in a row between 1994, 1995 and 1996. Also, Stacey had represented Canada being part of the female basketball team that played in the 2000 Olympic Games.
Her outstanding records shone on after she got into college. While in college, Stacey made a significant impact on the college team in addition to setting new records. On this premise, in 2001 she was named as the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year as well as that of 2002. Also, in her senior year, she helped the college team to qualify for NCAA Championship game but they ran out of luck as they were defeated by their opponents the Connecticut team.
Stacey also made a remarkable 765 points in the Big 12 all-conference games and was again named as the All-sports Academic, and All-American female player of the year in 2002. To crown it all, Stacey got her name written in the history books as the first female Oklahoma player to reach the high record of 1,700 points, with 600 rebounds and 700 assists.
Eventually, Stacey made her debut into the WNBA drafts when she was drafted as the third overall pick by the Washington Mystics, in 2002. While she was with the Mystics, Stacey shuffled between playing as a shooting guard and a small forward her stay with the team spanned to 2004.
However, it was later detected that Stacey developed a condition known as Raynaud’s phenomenon which affected her hands and by 2004 Stacey declared her initial retirement from playing basketball.
Be that as it may, Stacey decided to rescind her earlier retirement decision and joined Chicago Sky, in which she was drafted during the expansion draft of 2006. Her encounter with the Sky lasted only for a year.
Again, on April 5, 2008, Stacey publicized her retirement from WNBA entirely and this time it was for real. Stacey was later inducted into Brockville’s Hall of Fame in June 2016 as well as her brother Burke Dales who was also a retired football star.
