Randall Tex Cobb is a former professional wrestler famous for his career in the heavyweight division. In a career that spanned for more than two decades, Randell record 42 wins in 51 fights. He is regarded as one of the best chins of all time. While he is more popular as a boxer, Cobb has also made appearances in a good number of films and TV shows.

Randall Tex Cobb Biography

Although the boxer is popular as Randall Tex Cobb, he was born Randall Craig Cobb on May 7, 1950, in Bridge City, Texas, US. He was brought up by his parents Norma Grace Williard Glynn Cobb who worked as a factory foreman.

While growing up in Abilene, Texas, he attended Abilene High School and from there, he proceeded to Abilene Christian University. However, he would later drop out of the university. Always, someone that was interested in sports, Cobb played football when he was in high school and after he dropped out of college, he decided to start training for kickboxing, a sport that he would come to dominate, winning his first 9 fights with knockouts.

Despite his success as a kickboxer, it was soon clear to him that for him to make any serious money, he would have to go with boxing instead. This made him switch to boxing only to lose his first two amateur fights. However, when he turned professional, Randall Tex Cobb won his first seventeen fights by knockout except for one which was won by unanimous decision.

In a career that began from 1975 and ended in 2001, Cobb was in the ring as a professional boxer 51 times, he won 42 fights recording 35 as knockouts and he made 7 loses. His only draw was against Sonny Barch in a fight that he first won by knockout but it was discovered that the two men used cocaine and that overturned the victory.

As an actor, Randall Craig Cobb appeared in a number of films and TV shows including The Champ which was his debut film in 1975, followed by Uncommon Valor and Braker in 1983. By 2000 when he appeared as Lt. Munson in Vice he was already in close to 20 other films. On TV, he made his debut in Code of Vengeance and Hardcastle and McCormick in 1985. His last TV show was Walker, Texas Ranger in 2001.

After he left boxing and the entertainment scene, Cobb went on to obtain a degree from Temple University in 2008.

Wife and Children

Looking at his relationships, Randall Tex Cobb has been married twice in the past. The first time he was married was in 1986 to Sharon Cobb until 1997. Although it is known that he is married to Janet Denney Cobb, there is nothing significant that is known about their relationship.

Cobb has been blessed with a number of children including Joshua Cobb and Bo Cobb. While Joshua who was the younger of the two had a short boxing career, Bo, unfortunately, lost his life in 1999 following an accident.
