Early Life of Moses Johnson

Moses Johnson was born on October 16, 1992, in Huntington, New York. He is currently 33 years old. He fell in love with boxing when he was in 10th grade. Before then, he used to try beating his older cousins, but they always ended up dominating him.

He participated in every sport as a kid until he tasted boxing. Johnson once got into the ring with an older man, who crushed him. This was the motivation he needed as he continued training hard to become better at the sport.

Moses Jackson made his professional debut in March 2018, when he was 25 years old. While this is considered a late start, the fighter continues to spring up surprises and overwhelm any opponent that crosses his path.

The over-6-foot-tall boxer is an orthodox boxer, which means that he favors his right hand over his left hand. He has a reach of 77 inches and can readily knock the daylight out of anyone going up against him.

In 2022, Moses Jackson appeared on national TV for the first time, and he did put up an entertaining show. He was pitched against the fearsome four-time Oregon Golden Gloves champion, Garcia. The bout was held at Atlantic City Casino and Resort. Moses cruised to victory in eight rounds, even though he was the underdog. It was a clear statement that he didn’t come to settle for less.

Jackson is trained by the Sosa brothers (Jimmy and Aureliano) in the Atlas Cops and Kids Boxing gym in Brooklyn.

Moses Johnson Was an MMA Fighter

Moses Johnson was once an MMA fighter before turning pro in boxing. He wouldn’t be the first person to leave MMA to join boxing. Recently, Francis Ngannou made a switch to boxing after Conor McGregor crossed over. It is not clear why Johnson made the decision, but it is clearly paying off.

Although boxing and MMA both share similarities, they require different techniques to win a game. For a guy who can both grapple and punch, Johnson can comfortably earn a living from both disciplines.

He is Signed to Salita Promotions

Moses Jackson’s talent didn’t escape the notice of Salita Promotions, the promotional company led by Dmitriy Salita. Everybody wants to be associated with success, and this is the case between Thunderhand and the company handling him. A boxing promoter is responsible for paying for everything involved in a boxing match and ensuring that all legal requirements are met.

These companies assume all financial risks. Over the years, several boxers have come out to accuse their promoters of reaping their hard-earned money. Hopefully, this won’t be the case with Jackson.

Moses Wants American Boxers to Dominate the Heavyweight Division

Moses relishes the days of Mohammed Ali, Mike Tyson, and all the heavy hitters from America who brought glory to their country. Besides Deontey Wilder, not many from the USA can stand head-to-head with heavyweight contenders from other nations. It is why Jackon is so passionate about doing what is necessary to revive the dying hope.

Heavyweight boxers are trained to move less and absorb the shocks from blows. However, Johnson hinted at how his coaches are using a different approach to him. They train the bulky fighter to move like a middleweight.

Combining sudden moves and jabs has proven to be lethal. Moses Jackson is confident in his coaches and believes whatever they tell him to do in the ring. He knows that the moment he lets pride set in, he will stop learning, and that would cost him his dream of winning titles. The 33-year-old boxer needs all the necessary techniques to make his dream come true.
