She was born Antonija Misura in Sibenik, Croatia, Yugoslavia on the 19th of May 1988.
While growing up, she was in active in several sports. But got attracted to basketball due to her elder sister and Drazen Petrovic who were people she looked up to. Antonija took up playing basketball and there has been no looking back since then.
Career
Her professional career in basketball started in 2005 with ‘Vidici Dalmostan’. After being here for two years, she moved to ‘Jolly JBS’ in 2007 and remained with the club for 6 years.
Her stay in ‘Jolly JBS’ has to be the most rewarding period of her career as she won both the Croatian Cup and the national championship in her first season in the club.
It was also during her stay here that she had the opportunity to represent her countries national team in the 2009 Mediterranean Games where her team finished with a bronze medal.
Her team also came out in the 5th position at the 2011 EuroBasket Women and 10th at the Summer Olympics of 2012.
She moved to ‘Toulouse Metropole Basket’ in 2013 and left in 2016. After leaving this club she was in Canik Belediye Samsun and Lointek Gernika Bizkaia briefly in 2016 and 2017 respectively before moving to CCC Polkowice where she still presently plays.
Not to be fooled by her good looks, Antonija is known for her aggressive and quick play. While she has accepted the comments about her looks with all the grace she can muster, she finds the attention annoying and has declined several modeling offers. She continues to concentrate on improving herself and her game.
Asides basketball, she is presently studying tourism management in her country of birth.

Despite her good looks and the attention of the media, Antonija has kept important details about her life from the media. However, it is known that she is married to fellow Croatian basketball player Marko Sandric in August 2015. The two have known each other for almost all their lives. They were friends as children before coming to date for up to 10 years before finally getting married.
