Who is Brian Alsruhe?
Brian Alsruhe was born on 26 May 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland USA to his parents Dave and Connie Alsruhe. As a child, he watched how his parents were very hard-working. His father worked as a carpenter while his mother worked as an accountant for a construction company.
The strong man attended South Carroll High School where he participated in kickboxing while playing for the school’s baseball team. He also St. Mary’s attended University in 2002 where he studied Sociology, Criminology, and philosophy.
His interest in powerlifting was fueled by his high school workout buddy and classmate Mike Jenkins. Although he was advised by Mike’s sponsor, David Lee to try strongman at that time, he did not until 2013 when Mike passed.
Brian Alsruhe participated in his first strongman competition in April 2014 where he emerged a winner. He continued to fight until he got diagnosed with a brain tumor and was advised to stop fighting and also getting hit in the head.
He stopped fighting and focused on jiu-jitsu and lifting.

In order to achieve his desired body, Alsruhe uses a unique giant sets training program to build his muscles and get stronger at the same time. According to reports, he trains 4 days per week using upper body/lower body split with his main focus on the deadlift, bench press, squat or overhead press.
Furthermore, Brian uses giant sets in his 4 weekly workouts to get bigger and stronger. There are speculations that he might be the first person to use giant sets with the aim of getting stronger.
