Sara Piana Biography
Sara Piana was welcomed into the world on the 4th of July, 1989. She was born in Reykjavik, the largest city and the capital of Iceland where she also grew up. It is noteworthy that her actual birth name is Sara Heimisdottir.
Unlike other normal kids, Sara did not attend a conventional high school, but at a gymnasium school called Fjolbrautaskolinn I Breitholti where students are given the opportunity to study any one of the 27 educational paths provided.
When she turned 21 years old, Sara left the shores of Iceland for the United States, traveling under the umbrella of F-1 students’ visa. This gave her the access to be accepted into the University of Central Florida where she majored in Law and Psychology.

It was during her college years at the University that Sara Piana met her then-boyfriend turned husband, Richard Piana, who was already a popular bodybuilder at the time. The lovebirds first met in the gym where Richard often delivers his motivational lectures.
At the time, Sara had developed the habit of frequenting the gym to work out and it was during one of her gym sessions that she met Richard who offered to grant the sponsorship of her modeling career through his 5% Nutrition Company.
They soon started dating and their love soared in the process. They eventually got married in 2015. Their marriage was held at the Mr. Olympia expo in 2015 and was witnessed by many people who were stunned by the lavish display at the occasion.
After their marriage, the couple witnessed some marital problems and were often reported by the media to be having a series of fights. According to some reports, Richard felt that Sara only married him in order to get a US citizenship and thus, their entire union was built on a false pretext. This later led to their separation in 2016.
After their separation, Richard went back to the arms of his former girlfriend Chanel Jansen. He was with her when he suddenly died and after collapsing in his home. He was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California.
Meanwhile, Sara revealed in a social media chat after Richard’s death, that she was still legally married to him until his death and expressed her profound and undying love for her husband even as he rests in peace.
At the moment, Sara Piana is said to be residing in Ottawa Ontario in Canada. According to reports, while in Canada, she furthered her education, attending the Ryerson University in Toronto Ontario where she majored in Arts and Contemporary studies. She also played volleyball with the college team known as the Ryerson Rams. Sara has a record of being a three-time OCAA first-team All-star and professionally, she played club Volleyball with Maverick Volleyball club in Ottawa.
