For his college education, Cedric Ceballos attended two universities. The first was the community college Ventura, which he attended for two years between 1986 and 1988. He would later move to California State University in Fullerton. At Cal State, he played with the school’s basketball team the Titans. As you will easily find, he was with this team for two years before he graduated from the institution in 1990.
Career Stats and Accomplishments
After leaving Cal State in 1990, Cedric Ceballos joined the NBA draft of that year and he was picked by the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the draft, he was the 48th overall pick in the draft of that year. In his entire 21-year career, the Phoenix Suns is the team he played for the longest; he was with the team for four years before he moved on to Los Angeles Lakers.
The hereditary ties he has to Mexico encouraged the Mexican government to ask him to join their national team for the summer Olympics of 1992.
When he was with the Phoenix Sun, he won the 1992 Slam Dunk contest which he did blindfolded and was able to take his team to the NBA finals of the ‘92 –‘93 season with his 57.6 percent field goal record. This was a feat he also achieved with the Los Angeles Lakers where he made the all-star team of 1995. With the Lakers, he gave the team a 50-point game which was the first they had gotten in twenty years prior to him joining the team.
After he played for the Lakers for three years, he went back to the Suns and was with them for a year before departing; he joined the Dallas Mavericks.
In the course of his career, Ceballos also played for some international teams, he played in Israel, Russia and in the Philippines. Cedric Ceballos’ involvement with the sport is not limited to just playing. The now-defunct Phoenix Flame appointed him as their assistant coach, a job he held for a short while.
