SIM Bhullar is a professional basketball player who has made history by becoming the first person if Indian origin to play in the NBA. He currently plays in China for The Fubon Braves in the Super Basketball League (SBL).
Having made his professional career start in 2014 for Stockton Kings in the NBA G-league, he has gone to play in different leagues through the years while also making history in the process.
Sim Bhullar Biography
It was as Gursimran “Sim” Bhullar that the basketball star was born on December 2, 1992, in Toronto Canada which is also where he was brought up.
Bhullar was raised alongside two siblings, an older sister Avneet who not so much is known about and a younger brother who was said to be playing college basketball. The brother, Tanveer has a height of 7 feet 2 inches.
Sim was birthed to parents who migrated to the Great White North from the state of Punjab in India. Even though his parents have been blessed with good heights, they have never been exposed to basketball. Instead, his father Avtar once played a traditional Indian sport known as kabaddi.
The first time he got exposed to the basketball was when he was between 10 and 11. Soon afterward, he fell in love with the sport.
Having shown great potential at the time, he was given an opportunity by a professional coach with the Ontario Basketball Association.
For his education, he went to Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Etobicoke, Toronto before later attending The Kiski School after moving to Saltsburg, Pennsylvania. When he was there, he made a name for himself both for his skills and with his size. From Kiski, he moved again to Huntington Prep School in West Virginia.
He was initially supposed to attend Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio but after realizing he would have to pay tuition fee for a year since he was not immediately eligible to play, he changed his mind and instead, moved to the New Mexico State Aggies where he became an exceptional player.
He entered for the NBA Draft in 2014 but after he went undrafted, he signed to play in the 2014 NBA Summer League for the Sacramento Kings making him the first player of Indian descent to join the team.
He would go on to sign a 10-day contract with the team to play in the NBA making him the first to do so from India.
From 2015 to 2016, he played in the NBA Development League for Raptors 905 before moving to the Taiwanese Super Basketball League where he played for a year with Dacin Tigers.
From there he proceeded to sign for the second-tier league of China for Guangxi Rhino. However, he currently plays for the Fubon Braves.
As regards his international career, Sim Bhullar has played for Canada at different levels. He represented the country at the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship where the country won the bronze medal as well as the 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.

As regards his net worth, Sim Bhulla is believed to have a fortune of over$1 million. However, there is no confirmation on what he truly has. He made his fortune from his career as a basketball player.

With a father who has a height of more than 6 feet and a mother of 5 feet 10 inches, Sim Bhullar stands at an incredible 7 feet 5 inches (2.26 meters) tall. This makes him significantly tall even in the standard of basketball. He is the 7th tallest player in the history of the NBA.
To complement his massive height, Bhullar has a weight of 360 lb (163 kg).
