It was on July 17, 200 that Róbert Bobróczky was born in his hometown of Arad in Romania into the family of Zsigmond Bobroczky and Brunhilde. While his father is a former basketball player, his mother was a volleyball and handball player.
His father who played for the Romanian national team was his first teacher in the sport of basketball at the age of 5.
When he was 14, an amateur basketball club in Italy, A.S. Stella Azzurra, recruited Robert who thanks to his height dominated others. He also helped the team to clinch the under-15 national title in Italy. By 2016, his video had made it online and he became an instant sensation.
