She has since played in the LET Access Series and the Ladies European Tour and has represented Great Britain in the European Golf Team Championships. Meghan MacLaren was born on 15 May 1994 in Wellingborough, England. She was brought up in Northamptonshire alongside a sister in a family that loves golf. Her father, David MacLaren who is the deputy chief operating officer and Staysure Tour boss for the European Tour introduced her to the sport when she was only 4, and her mother, Mary MacLaren has also been supportive. Both her parents are in the golfing business.
Once listed among England’s brightest young golfers, Meghan continued to play as she grew up and so that became something she wanted to have as a career. However, her father revealed that if not for golf she might have ended up as either a writer or a politician.
She attended the Florida International University in Miami from where she graduated with a degree in English and literature and she also minored in politics

She also played basketball and soccer for her primary school teams from 2005 to 2010. In 2009, she was given the Rotary Club Young Achieve Award.

Although Meghan MacLaren is the name that is better heard of, her father is also a golfer as well as her mother and sister. In an interview, her father revealed that his two daughters and wife are all better golfers than himself. Her parents played in the British Universities Tournaments.

Meghan MacLaren made a very strong statement against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2020 when she decided to pull out of the European Tour tournament there. According to the golfer, the reason why she withdrew was because of the human rights record of the Kingdom. She insisted that the decision was a personal one for her and she felt the need to make the statement judging by Amnesty International’s research.
