Natalie Germanos is a top media personality and sports commentator in South Africa. She is a sports broadcaster at SABC TV and Radio, an MC, motivational speaker, animal activist, and an amateur wildlife photographer.

She is among the pioneers of women in cricket. Her hard work, dedication, and vast knowledge of the sport have provided her with opportunities even outside the borders of South Africa. 

She has covered a wide range of sports for the past 12 years. She initially focused on cricket but later moved on to radio, where she covered tennis, netball, football, and other sports at the Olympics in 2012.

Aside from that, she has also coached cricket, netball, tennis, swimming, and athletics. She has really paved the way for women in sports and is regarded as a model for those who look up to her.

Natalie Germanos is a 60 year-old Johannesburg-born sports enthusiast who started playing crickets when she was 11 years old. She played with her brothers who were also enthusiasts of the game.

She attended Mondeor High School from 1994-1998. Then she graduated with a merit diploma in Sports Management and also Marketing Management from IMM Graduate School of Marketing.

She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communication which she earned while she was studying at the University of Johannesburg from 2003-2005.

She joined radio2000 in 2005 when she was just 24-years-old. Since then, Germanos has become a strong voice of cricket on South African radio and she has done justice to other sports as well.

She has tried various sports and according to her, she would have picked volleyball because she is an excellent volleyball player. She had been part of a team in 2007, Vortex Volleyball and they won the VSA Cup that year. 

Germanos was a sports presenter for four years on the 9-12 weekend show on radio2000. She has also hosted SAfm Sports Show during weekends and also the station’s weekly show, SAfm Sports Wrap.

In 2014, Germanos and her colleague at Radio 2000, Lizette Khan helped the Proteas Women’s team with their media training to prepare them for the world of professional sport.

She was asked to join the team as a commentator, anchor presenter, and also touch screen presenter. She was given a trial period which fortunately marked her journey of 8years on the radio.

She has done commentary on 73 Tests, three world cups, and five world T20 tournaments.
