Her Battle With Cancer and The Triumph
It was a terrible year in 2009 for the Mickelson’s when Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to deal with it for almost a year. Unfortunately towards the same period, Phil’s mother was also diagnosed with the same ailment.
Dealing with it was difficult for not only Amy but her family. In fact, her husband put a hold on his career for a while. In 2010, it became the first time in many months Amy would be present at her husband’s game where he played and won the Augusta National golf tournament in honour of her after she was declared cancer-free following series of treatment and chemo.
The fight against cancer did not stop for Amy when she came out clean, but through campaigns, fundraising, and other devices, she has continued to fight against the disease to help others.
