The couple met at the University of Cincinnati College of Law where they were both studying law. Holly graduated in 1988 while Cris graduated in 1991. Cris was rumored to be a serious ladies man in Cincinnati and the local papers even said at that time that girls would be throwing themselves at the limousine before the wedding. The couple fell in love and there was just no stopping them.
2. Cris Collinsworth did not get the first proposal he had planned for her
More than 30 years ago, Collinsworth played as Bengals wide receiver and while getting set for the 1988 MLB All-Star game, he approached Al Michaels who was working in the broadcast booth to help him propose to the woman he loved, Holly Bankemper. Michaels denied the request and that was how Cris did not propose to her the initial manner he planned. Nonetheless, he still gave her a great proposal on a Bridge over the Ohio River.
Cris later thanked Michaels for not giving him the chance to propose as he planned because he later felt if he had done it that way, she would have rejected him or hated it.

In the beginning of their family life after Cris began to work for Fox Sports, they thought about moving to Los Angeles full-time but later decided against it. Another incredible part about Holly is her ability to motivate and lead people. In 2008, she helped to raise $7.8 million to renovate her old high school. Everyone involved in the campaign claimed she was the reason they managed to raise that much.
Asides her other endeavors, she works with the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund which serves to educate women about breast cancer and also provide low-cost mammograms.
