1. Mandy Shanahan is well educated
As a little girl, growing up in Colorado, Amanda O’Donnell was full of aspirations and so she pursued her education with excellence at Cherry Creek High, Denver. She later continued her college education at the University of Colorado where she graduated.
2. She met her husband while she was still a teenager
The couple first met as teenagers at Cherry Creek High School and began a relationship that did not go beyond their high school walls, because they got admitted into separate colleges and the distance did not permit them to continue.
Mandy enrolled in the University of Colorado, whereas Kyle got admission into the University of Texas at Austin. As fate will have it, the estrange lovebirds crossed paths again, and this time, their relationship was a more serious one, heading to the alter. Fortunately, Kyle and Mandy tied the nuptial knot in a private ceremony attended by just friends and family members on July 5, 2005, a day after their country’s independence celebration. Their marriage is blessed with three beautiful children; Stella Shanahan, Carter Shanahan, and Lexi Shanahan, who they welcomed between, 2008, 2010 and 2013 respectively.
3. Kyle Was Her Senior
Kyle Shanahan was her senior at Cherry Cheek High School but did not care for his seniority when love mattered. He approached the gorgeous Amanda O’Donnell and they began a relationship.
4. Her Mother Was An Educator
If you have listened to Mandy’s interviews, I bet you would notice how fluent she is and smart with her choice of words. As they say, an apple does not fall far off from its tree. Growing up as a little girl, her late mother, Nancy O’Donnell was an educator and she taught high school students even while she suffered stage 4 gallbladder cancer.
Until her death on January 31, 2002, she was an eighth-grade teacher. Nancy O’Donnell died at the age of 57 many years ago, but her legacy is evident in not just her daughter, but many others whom she impacted and imbibed her teachings on their way up.
5. She Loves Her Mother Dearly
One of the things you will not see in the media is the mother and daughter relationship between Mandy and her late mother, Nancy. But, you can tell of how much admiration she had for her mother because she does not shy from any opportunity to talk about her. It is even rumoured that she went into depression after she lost her mother and it was Kyle’s presence that kept her going. Perhaps, the reports may be right, going by the way Mandy talks about Kyle helping her through the tragedy.
6. She Gushes Over Her Husband
She has spoken countlessly about how Kyle was there for her when she needed someone around and one of such incident was during her mother’s ailment. In this particular interview with SfChronicle she revealed in details how Kyle won her trust;
“He completely stunned me,” “Kyle, hands down, got me through that. After going through that with him, I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. What was so alarming to me, being that young and going through something that devastating, I realized it’s not going to be the last sad thing that I go through.”
7. Mandy Shanahan Never Wanted An Early Marriage
She has also spoken about how she wanted to pursue a career before settling down. But, on second thought, admitted that it does not matter when people decide to get married, in as much as you have found the right one, why not?
