Love Story With Kevin Durant and Engagement
Kevin Wayne Durant, popularly referred to by his initials ‘KD’ is an American Basketballer born on the 29th of September 1988. He plays for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. He also has roots of his basketball career from his college days where he played one season of college basketball for the University of Texas and was selected as the second overall pick by the Seattle Supersonics in the 2007 NBA draft and was even regarded as the second-best player in his class in college.
He has grown through rants, positions, and titles since then and has won numerous awards for his stellar performances as a Basketball player.
Monica Wright and Kevin Durant reportedly met while in High school at the 2006 McDonald’s All-American game and it seems like they had a ‘High school romance thing going on which was a bit unclear though because the exact date and period when they started the relationship was not stated (Although some reports have it that they started dating in January 2013). It is said that they dated for months although just a couple of months before the engagement, they both claimed to be just friends.
on the 7th of July 2013, Monica confirmed rumors of her engagement to Kevin and it wasn’t so much of a shocker because Kevin, apart from being a great Basketball Player, was also one of the kindest, most benevolent player of them all and so he was considered to be ‘great marriage material’ that no girl would want to pass on. This confirmation came during a post-game interview.
In an interview, Kevin stated that the engagement happened abruptly as they were both chilling and he thought it was the best time to pop the question because he felt he really loved her then and would want to spend his life with her.
End of the Love Story
Owing to the fact that the beginning of the relationship is uncertain, we cannot tell how long the relationship between Monica Wright and Kevin Durant lasted before they called off the engagement. The engagement was called off in July 2014.
The breakup was as quiet as the engagement and just like the engagement, nothing was said about it until Kevin spoke up in an interview with GQ where he admitted to not knowing how to properly love Monica and that was the basis on which the engagement was called off.
Presently, Monica is married to fellow basketball coach and former basketball player Michael Rogers on July 14, 2018, and they have a son together named McKale.
