Daniel Grimshaw is an English footballer playing the position of goalkeeper for Lommel SK, which is a Belgian association football club based in the city of Lommel. He started his career while still very young and played for Manchester City.
He played for Manchester City U-19, U-23, and other Youth Tournaments as a youth and was introduced to the Club’s first team as a talented starlet.
He is currently on a loan to the club from Manchester City and his loan contract expires on the 30th of June, 2021.

Daniel James Grimshaw was born in Swinton, England on the 16th of January 1998.
The 26 old has been a super fan of Manchester City for the best part of his life. He was part of the Manchester City Academy since he was 9years old and afterward, was elevated to join the team’s first squad.
He was part of the team’s touring squad as well and they toured the United States in pre-season although he couldn’t make any game appearance.
He has actually never played a game for his team but he came close to once when Ederson De Moraes and Claudio Bravo who were both first and second keepers for Manchester City were injured. Ederson however recovered from his injury in the nick of time and was able to keep for the team and so Daniel remained benched and couldn’t make his debut then.

Being a youngster in football as he started playing quite early when he joined the Manchester City Football Academy, Daniel Grimshaw has been a part of three clubs.
He represented Manchester City through the academy age groups and also featured in foreign tournaments in Singapore and Qatar.
He was the fourth choice goalkeeper for Manchester City’s first team and he trained with them for 2 years.
Moving from the academy to the first team in 2019, he was sent on loan to Hemel Hempstead Town in 2020 until the end of their season and in October of the same year, he joined Belgian First Division B side, Lommel on another loan.
With Lommel, he has made his very first appearance in a game playing against K.V.C Westerlo which ended in a 1 all draw.
Daniel was a major team player at the Elite Development Squad. They went through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League and Daniels stats in the season included him making four saves against Inter-Milan in their round of 16 and two saves against Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
Although he is yet to make a debut for Manchester City’s First team, he was part of the 2021 squads that traveled to Wembley, played, and won the Community Shield game against Chelsea and the squad who played the Premier League opener against Arsenal.

Daniel Grimshaw almost made a debut for Manchester City again, after the hope that was dashed with Ederson’s recovery.
He was named on the list of Bench-substitutes for the Carabao Cup semi-final’s second leg against Burton Albion. Unfortunately, he did not make it off the bench and into the pitch.
