1. He Learned Boxing From His Father
Born Brandson Lee Figueroa, the boxer was exposed to boxing at an early age through his father, Omar Figueroa Sr. By the time he was two, he had already started leaning towards working to become a boxer.
His father also thought him several other things that help to shape his mind and toughen him in his career.
In spite of this, his father did not see him ready to compete in the boxing ring because he thought of him as fragile. At the time and before he became professional, the older Figueroa did not even notice that his younger son was ready since he was busy training his older child, Omar Figueroa Jr.
Yet, it did not stop him from forging ahead. Figueroa Sr. continues to be an important part of his children’s thriving boxing career.
2. Brandon Figueroa Thought that a Loss to Stephen Fulton was the Biggest Robbery of 2021
Of the many fights that Figueroa has fought, one of the major defeats of his career was when he fought boxer Stephen Fulton Jr. in November 2021. The fight lasted 12 rounds and the judges awarded Fulton the victor of the match.
Figueroa did not believe that his opponent truly won the fight. According to him, he hurt Fulton five to six times and it was evident that he won. He further claimed that Fulton’s victory was undeserving and was the “biggest robbery of the year“.
Based on the analysis of the fight, Figueroa was the aggressor of the fight while Fulton delivered cleaner punches which contributed to his win.
To settle their scores after back and forth with words, the men decided on a rematch at 122 pounds.
3. 27 Years Old Brandon Was Arrested for Criminal Trespassing and DWI
The Texas native found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was first arrested for criminal trespassing – a Class A misdemeanor. Nonetheless, the case was dismissed barely a year after the arrest since there was no damage to the alleged property.
Years after, Figueroa was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was said to have about 0.15% level of Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) which was almost two times higher than the State limit of 0.08%.
Afterward, he accepted to appear in court for the charges against him and was therefore released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
4. He Tested Positive for COVID-19
along the line in his career, Brandon Figueroa tested positive for the virus that took charge of many parts of the world – COVID-19.
This health challenge slowed his career and a major fight with Stephen Fulton was suspended.

The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court which is comprised of a County Judge and four commissioners elected from individual precincts honored Brandon for the series of records he has attained through his career.
The honorary certificate was signed by County Judge Richard F. Cortez alongside other county commissioners.
Hidalgo County has also honored Brandon’s older brother.
