Chantelle Cameron as of May 2023, is an unmarried British professional boxer. She has been linked to a fellow fighter named Josh Taylor but there was no concrete evidence to pin a relationship on them.
Chantelle initially started pursuing her fighting dreams with kickboxing but soon realized using her hands worked better for her. She became a professional boxer at the age of 26 when she made her super-featherweight boxing debut.
Chantelle Cameron Isn’t Married
The 33-year-old boxer is yet to be married but was once linked to Josh Taylor. Josh is a fellow boxer who is now married to his long-time fiancée Danielle Murphy. This development somewhat eliminates whatever form of intimacy speculated to be shared by the two fighters.
Nonetheless, Chantelle has a couple of pictures on her social media pages with a woman known as Claire Well. The pair spend quite a lot of time together, going on dates, cruises, and rides.
Although the caption of the post does not really give out anything, Claire’s Instagram profile picture is an image of her and the Northampton boxer. Her account is however private.
Cameron was Drawn to Fighting Because of Actor Jean-Claude Van Damme
A story the Northampton-born boxer loves to tell is how she was drawn to combat sports because of an actor. Belgian actor, Jean-Claude Van Damme’s movies made the 5 feet, 6 inches English fighter love fighting.
Additionally, she loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer because of the fight scenes and the fact that she was a woman. Buffy became Chantelle’s role model while growing up while her other favorite movie was Kickboxer.
Chantelle was born on May 14, 1991, in Northampton, England. She is part of MTK Global, fondly known as IL Capo, and has been training under Jamie Moore.
Some of her Achievements
While still an amateur boxer, Cameron won a silver medal in the light-welterweight division of the 2010 EU Championships. The next year, she went home with a bronze medal from the same competition after losing to Katie Taylor in the semi-final round.
The now-undisputed light-welterweight champion has won championship titles in 2 different weight classes. She has won the WBC title and held it since 2020. She also won the IBF and Ring magazine titles for 2 years (2021 to date), and WBA & WBO in November 2022.
Chantelle was named the IBO female lightweight champion in 2017 and she held the title for 2 years.

Chantelle’s Fight Against Katie Taylor Will Most Likely Be Her Toughest So-Far
One of IL Capo’s biggest challengers is Katie Taylor whom she lost an EU semi-final match to in 2011. Now, she believes her match against the former Irish footballer cum professional boxer could be a chance at redemption.
The match slated for May 20, 2023, would see Cameron defending her undisputed super-lightweight titles. Both fighters haven’t lost any of the professional matches as Katie has 26 wins of 26 matches and Cameron has 17 wins of 17 games.
At the end of this clash, one of these fighters would definitely add a loss to her stats or at least a draw.
Chantelle Cameron Has Been Involved in a Controversy
There was a disagreement between Chantelle and another female boxer, Ellie Scotney. This disarray began when the England-born kick-boxer turned boxer made some allegations on social media against Ellie’s management which cost her fellow English boxer a chance at a World Title.
The management has since debunked the claims raised by Chantelle. They made their response to her social media post via a social media post as well.
