Eugenie Bouchard is a Canadian tennis player who is regarded as the first Canadian-born player to represent Canada and reached the final of a Grand Slam Tournament.
She started the journey towards being a professional tennis player at a very young age and even competed in junior tennis categories.
The 30-year-old Tennis player had a rough childhood which affected her relationship with her twin sister. However, they seem to have mended their relationship and have rekindled their sibling love.

1. She was born in Montreal
She was born Eugenie ‘Genie’ Bouchard on February 25, 1994, in Montreal, Canada. Her parents are Michel Bouchard, an Investment banker, and Julie Leclair.
Genie is a twin who was born 6 minutes after her sister named Beatrice Bouchard. They both have younger siblings identified as Charlotte born in 1995 and William born in 1999.
Michel and Julie named their children after royal family members as Eugenie and Beatrice were named after Prince Andrew’s daughters, the Princesses of York.
Charlotte was named after the daughter of Monegasque Princess Carolina and Stephano Casiraghi. Williams, the youngest sibling was named after Prince Williams of Wales.
While growing up, the young athlete had a lot of interests including mathematics and science. Growing up in Montreal, she attended a private girls’ school known as The Study.
If her love for tennis wasn’t as overpowering, Eugenie would have considered a career as a physician. She is also bi-lingual, fluent in French and English languages.
2. Her Parents got divorced when she was 10 years old
When Eugenie and Beatrice were about 10 years old, their parents got divorced. Michel and Julie were not happy together and so they decided to go their separate ways. In the process, custody of their 4 children was split. This saw Eugenie staying with her mother while her twin sister and younger siblings moved with their dad.
The divorce also caused the siblings to see rarely and it happened only twice in a year.
3. Eugenie Bouchard Began to Take her Love for Tennis Seriously at the age of 12
Following her parents’ divorce, Eugenie whose interest in Tennis began at the age of 5, became more invested in the sport. At the age of 12, she moved to Florida where she began training with coach Nick Saviano.
By 2005, she was already a participant in Open Super 12 tournament, in Auray. At the age of 15, Genie had won a lot of titles including her first professional main-draw match in Italy after defeating the world No. 798. She closed the year clinching the Pan American Closed ITF Championships.
4. The 30-year-old is the First Canadian Tennis Player to be Ranked Top 5 in Singles
Eugenie Bouchard is the first Canadian-born tennis player representing Canada to have reached the finals of a Grand Slam tournament in singles. She is also the first Canadian tennis player to be ranked in the Top 5 in singles format.
As a result of her hard work over the years, Eugenie reached her highest ranking on October 20, 2014, and that was when she got to the 5th spot in the singles category.
5. Eugenie Bouchard had a Strained Relationship with her Twin Sister
Since Michel and Julie’s divorce, the Bouchard siblings have had strained relationships. While Genie and her other siblings grew apart due to the distance, Eugenie grew apart from her father and her siblings, from their mother.
However, the most strain was between twins Beatrice and Eugenie whose estrangement turned into a bitter rivalry.
Beatrice is described as a Social media model who had to live under the shadow of her athletic sister for years. She even received backlash for not supporting her sister whenever she had a match.
Since the girls turned 20, they stopped seeing and grew further apart. Beatrice even mentioned that she knew people in the supermarket better than she knew her twin sister.

6. The Tennis Player Has a Lot of Endorsements
The one-time world No. 5 tennis player has had quite a number of endorsements since her professional career kicked off in 2005. From her cumulative endorsements, she is speculated to earn as high as $5 million.
Bouchard has been part of brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Rogers Communication, Babolat, and New Balance, to mention a few.
Following her 2014 Wimbledon Championships final appearance, Eugenie signed a 3-year endorsement deal with Coca-Cola. A year later she signed with Aviva Canada and has had a lot of other juicy offers and contracts since then.
However, she lost most of them at a point in her life because she began to perform poorly. Nonetheless, she kept some of her endorsements and even won new ones eventually. She is now fully a New Balance brand ambassador amongst others.
7. Bouchard has been Involved in Charity Works
The 5 feet 10 inches tennis player has been involved in a few charities over the years. She has worked with at least 4 charities including the Aviva Community Fund, Cancer for College, Cancer Research Society, and the USANA True Health Foundation.
Eugenie Bouchard even agreed to go on a date with a fan who paid $85,000 during an ‘All in Challenge’. The entire money was given to charity.

8. She Took a Break from Playing Tennis but Returned in 2022
Eugenie Bouchard took a 17-month hiatus from playing tennis after a shoulder injury prevented her from playing tennis. She however resurfaced in August 2022 after her surgery and has since remained on the tennis scene since then.
Although many fans and spectators thought she had retired from playing tennis, Eugenie came back to the sport. The tennis player admitted that the thought of retirement did cross her mind but she did not follow up with that.
9. Bouchard Eugenie Has been in a couple of Relationships
Over the years, Eugenie has been in a couple of relationships with fellow athletes and an investment banker. She was first matched with Ice hockey player Jordan Caron in 2017. They were pictured together in Spain but the relationship didn’t seem to last.
Next, after losing a bet to John Goehrke, she had to go on a date with him and they went on more dates after the first. Just like with Jordan, this did not last.
In September 2019, Eugenie was with investment banker Connor Davis. Connor is related to American Supermodel and one-time tennis player Hannah Jeter. The relationship did not seem to weather through the coronavirus era, though.
Bouchard’s most recent love interest was the Pittsburg Steelers quarterback player, Mason Rudolph. The rumors of their relationship began way back in 2020 but they became official in February 2021.
Unfortunately, the relationship ended in March 2022 and it seems the tennis player has remained single since then.
10. She is worth $6 Million
Eugenie who loves the right-handed and two-handed tennis playing strategies has won prize money of $6,780,164. She is worth $6 million following this win and also with an addition of her endorsements, it is quite believable that she is worth said amount.
