Jūlija Briede has chosen to be in the shade despite being the wife of the outstanding Latvian boxer, Mairis Briedis. She is not a public person and has been granted only a few interviews related to her family life.

1. Jūlija Briede was Raised in Riga
Although she was born a Latvian, Jūlija is reportedly fluent in Russian as well. She was born was raised in Riga. As a child, she lived in Old Riga where she attended Riga 17th Secondary School which was said to be very close to her home.
At the age of eight, her family moved to a village near the Botanical Garden but she never changed schools until she graduated and went to further her studies at the University of Latvia. She earned a degree in International Economics at the university.
After her first degree, she later got her master’s degree from the same University.
2. Her Parents Divorced when She was Young
According to reports, Jūlija’s parents divorced when she was a little girl. Her mother, whom she grew up with, later remarried and gave birth to her younger sister. Mairis’ wife and her mother lived in London for seven years.
She revealed during an interview that she loves her mother so much that she goes to see her all the time.

During an interview, Jūlija revealed that her mother’s parents taught her a lot while she was growing up. Her grandfather was from Murmansk while her grandmother is from Siberia.
Her grandparents both studied in St. Petersburg and were graduates with red diplomas. While her grandmother’s strength was literature, her grandfather was a mathematician.

Following her graduation from the university, Jūlija reportedly worked in Insurance. Also, an artist, she has worked under the tutelage of Vadim Vernik.
Her husband, on the other hand, has excelled in his career after becoming the first Latvian to hold a world boxing title. He was ranked as the world’s best active cruiserweight by BoxRec in October 2021.
The three-time cruiserweight world was supposed to make his second IBF nad The Ring title defense against the title challenger Jai Opetaia on April 6 2022 but the bout was later postponed after Mairis tested positive for Covid-19.
The bout has been rescheduled for May 11, 2022, at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Gold Coast suburb of Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.

At the age of 20, the mother of five met her future husband when he was 22 years old. Mairis was the first to reach out to her and after that, the two went on a date. Two weeks after they met, the boxer introduced her to his father as his future wife and it all sounded like a joke.
A couple of months later, the boxer invited all her friends and family to their wedding during the summer but they were not registered. The marriage took place in September which wasn’t even a year since the two first met in November 2017.

After being married for 56 years, the boxer and his wife have three sons Raphael, Brendan, and Gabriel. Before they married, Mairis had twin boys from a previous relationship. His sons Richard Daniel and David Christaps reportedly live with their mother in Britain but occasionally visit Latvia. Jūlija learned about her husband’s twin boys on their second date.
Jūlija had always wanted three children since childhood and now it looks like she is leaving her dream life. Her son Raphael attends English and Chess school while Brendan goes for boxing lessons leaving her with little Gabriel at home.

During an interview with the magazine OK! the boxer revealed that only his wife could convince him to do anything. Knowing fully well that he draws his strength from his love for his family, he revealed that only his wife can control him. The boxer is said to be very impulsive to the extent that once he has an idea in his head, it is very difficult for him to change his decision and thoughts but Jūlija can convince him.
Aside from having the power to control him, she has also helped him forge a good relationship with his manager. At the time he did not have a manager, she reportedly communicated with her husband’s partners and managers about training camps which helped him develop a good relationship with his manager.

The athlete’s wife revealed she would love to work as an interior designer. Also, she enjoys garden planning so being a florist would have been an option for her too.
