Ryann O’Toole is an American female professional golfer who is making quite some strides in her career. O’Toole had a great time playing golf in college and won quite some accolades before turning professional in 2009. She has since not looked back in her quest to achieve greatness.

Ryann O’Toole was born on the 11th of February 1987. Her place of birth is Agoura Hills in Los Angeles County, California. Her mother is Dana O’Toole while her dad is named Jamie O’Toole.
O’Toole was raised alongside two younger siblings. She has a sister named Tayler Shea Thompson and a brother named Brennan O’Toole. She had her high school education at San Clemente High School in California and graduated at 18.
O’Toole went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied sociology. She joined the UCLA Bruins female golf team and finished top 10 on 12 different occasions during her 4-year college career. She made a name in the Royal College Golf Club in Victory British, Columbia Canada, where she holds a record of 66 in golf. In 2009, she left UCLA with her bachelor’s degree.
O’Toole joined the LPGA Futures Tour in February 2009, the same year she graduated from college. By the end of the first season, she had participated in 8 events and ranked 80th on the money list. In a bid to acquire the LPGA membership for the 2010 season, the female golfer took part in the final qualifying tournament but came 73rd and hence failed to qualify.

1. Ryann O’Toole was into Other Sporting Activities From Childhood
Before deciding on the path she wanted to take, the young 37-year-old tried a couple of sporting activities. Ryann first fell in love with golf when she went on a lesson with some family friends.
After the lesson, the young lady returned home and happily announced to her parents that she had found something she was interested in. Her parents did not believe her because they felt that she was not serious.
O’Toole went on to try riding a unicycle, hockey, and other sports but she wasn’t really interested in those. After the whole back and forth with other sports, her parents finally signed her up for golf upon the advice of the head coach.
Nonetheless, even after taking Golf seriously, she still went on to try other sports. Ryann was great at surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. She began surfing at a young age when she began hanging out with boys who surfed as she grew up at the beach.
2. She Was 7th On The Money List Of Futures Tour In 2010
Undeterred by the seeming failure of the previous season, Ryann O’Toole competed in 16 events in the 2010 Futures Tour where she won 2 events and came up to the 7th position on the money list. This gave her a conditional status on the 2011 LPGA Tour. In December, she tried again to improve her LPGA status but was unsuccessful with a 95th position.
3. Ryann O’Toole Was Part Of ‘The Big Break’ Reality Show
She was one of the 11 golfers who competed in the 2010 season of ‘The Big Break’ reality show. She earned the sixth position on the show which was broadcast on the golf channel. Ryann O’Toole is now playing on the LPGA Tour and the Futures Tour.
4. The Wife of Gina Marra Fought with Her Parents Over her Sexuality
While in college, Ryann was the only openly gay sportsman among her peers. She still tried to keep it hidden because nobody else could relate to her. However, she began to be uncomfortable doing regular dates with boys and hanging out with girls without expressing her feelings.
However, she eventually got the opportunity to meet with people just like her and started being comfortable identifying as gay. Her parents were still oblivious to her sexual orientation, nonetheless.
Ryann O’Toole’s parents eventually found out about her sexuality from her best friend’s mother who found out from her daughter. Devastated, the O’Toole parents did all they could to change their daughter’s orientation.
O’Toole had to attend spiritual, Christian programs for gay kids who needed to be transformed. Additionally, she was made to go to therapy and her parents kept a close eye on her.
None of these worked to change her. On the contrary, she only met more people like her and became more comfortable.
In the long run, Ryann and her parents cut off ties as they were devout Christians who thought their daughter had deviated from the right path. O’Toole and her family were estranged for about 8 years in total.
Eventually, her parents accepted her for who she was and she forgave them. Now, according to the golfer, she is happily reunited with her parents and family who are still a huge part of her life, career, and growth.
5. She was Named a Global Ambassador to the ‘Golf and Health’ Project
The Californian golfer is a health and fitness enthusiast who often shares videos and tips on her fitness routines on her social media platforms. Most of her sporting activities also help her keep in shape as she has admitted.
