Amanda Brundage’s Early Life and Family

She was born Amanda Cooper on October 22, 1991, in Bath, Michigan, United States. She was born to a boxing father and was exposed to fighting while she was young.

This would eventually lead her to pick interest in the sport and later start boxing at 11 before she later turned professional in MMA at the age of 23.

Cody Brundage’s career started in 2014 in MMA. She made her debut on 15 February in a fight against Brittany – a fight that left Amanda as a winner via submission.

In her earliest fighting career, she fought under the King of the Cage MMA promotion based in Southern California in the United States.

From there, she moved to fight for another American MMA promotion, Invicta Fighting Championships. Under the promotion, she had her flyweight bout where she lost in a fight with Aspen Ladd on September 12, 2015.

Cody Brundage’s Wife Had a UFC Career 

In 2016, Amanda moved to start her fighting career with Ultimate Fighting Championship where she lost in a fight against Tatiana Suarez, Cynthia Calvillo, Mackenzie Dern, and Ashley Yoder. She also won fights against Anna Elmose and Angela Magaña.

Her career in the UFC may have been accompanied by more losses but it was sure a career breakthrough. This is because the UFC is the largest mixed martial arts organization in the world.

In 2018, her contract with UFC ended and this marked the beginning of her career with Invicta Fighting Championships in 2019.

She May Have a Career in Nursing

In a report, Cody announced that his wife Amanda was taken a break from fighting and had gone to school in order to obtain a CNA license.

According to him, she made the move in order to help care for their family and daughter who may have special needs.

Her making this decision to pause her fighting career is a major source of motivation for him to push even harder.

How Amanda Brundage Met and Married Her Husband, Cody Brundage

Amanda and Cody met long before they became professionals. At the time, Amanda was a boxer while Cody just moved to Michigan and started to train at the same gym where Amanda trained and was coaching others.

He would mostly come early in the morning to train but at the time, he was a wrestling coach. When Amanda who was already a professional MMA fighter noticed his not-so-great punches, she opted to help him with his punches, and in turn, he would help her wrestling.

They continued training for another 6 months and along the line, they became close, started dating, and were later married.

They remain one of the few couples to have been in MMA and also be signed to UFC.

Does Amanda Have Children?

Amanda is a mother of a daughter named Kingsley Rae. At the time of this writing, Amanda is pregnant with the couple’s second child.

Kingsley has a gene mutation called ALG13 which is also known as Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation. This condition causes one to have severe developmental delay as well as seizures among other symptoms.

Cody is known for speaking severally about the condition with the motive of creating awareness as well as being a form of support to parents going through a similar path.
