Frank Ntilikina was born on 28 July 1998 in Ixelles, Belgian. His mother, Jacqueline fled from Rwanda in the wake of the genocide. At the age of three, Frank’s mother moved the family to Strasbourg in France. He and his two brothers Yves and Brice grew up in France. He signed with the New York Knicks in 2015. Frank is currently 27 years old

His brothers, Yves and Brice were both born in Rwanda and had an experience of the genocide. Though they don’t recall how terrible it was because they were little. Frank was born years after his mother had fled the Rwandan genocide.

Brice and Yves discovered basketball on the streets and it served as an outlet for their passion. At the age of three, Frank also started playing the game like his older brothers. Frank loved the game when he played with his brothers.

He began playing at the St Joseph Strasbourg association at the age of five. At the age of 15, he joined SIG Basket in the Youth Academy.

Frank became professional at the age of 15. He joined the SIG Basket based in Strasbourg. Frank recorded a win with the team in the 2014-p2015 season.

In 2017, he was one among the 10 internationals that met the final points for the NBA draft deadline. He was the #8 draft pick of the New York Knicks. The New York Knicks picked him ahead of Dallas Mavericks who may have picked him as their #9 draft pick.

He signed with the Knicks on July 5th, 2017. It marked his career outside of France. He started playing point guard but was later shuffled to defense when he improved his play. His impressive 7ft wingspan coverage and determination contributed to the shift.

His rookie season with the Knicks is a draft bust, he showed up for only 43 games due to injuries he suffered. Frank underperformed in his third season and Elfrid Payton replaced him.
