Here are 7 Facts Thrilling about Ron Jaworski

1. He is the CEO Quarterback

Ron Jaworski has proven that he isn’t only good at football and playing golf. He has shown that he is a good talker too. As the CEO of Quarterback, he provides motivational lessons on how business owners can compete every day.

Armed with his experiences as an athlete, author, businessman, and sports analyst, he dishes out strategies on how business and community leaders can take risks, lead by example, outperform the competition, train the right people, and achieve success.

2. Ron Jaworski has a Foundation

Ron Jaworski, a former NFL quarterback, is a co-owner of Jaws Youth Playbook (JYP), a nonprofit foundation aimed at improving the health and wellness of young people in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Ron and his family have donated over $7 million to the foundation, serving at-risk youths in underserved communities for about four decades.

The foundation’s mission includes building playgrounds, providing sports equipment, and promoting healthy nutrition. Ron believes that playgrounds are critical in communities, as they positively impact kids and help prevent them from getting involved in crime.

3. He Currently Owns 8 Golf Clubs

Unable to afford a golf country club as a kid, Ron Jaworski didn’t let this deter him as he would sneak into one with his friends to get a feel. In his active days in the NFL, the former quarterback would retreat to a golf spot to be rejuvenated.  At 22, Jaw bought his first club. Together with his family members and staff, Jaworski has built an empire to be reckoned with. Today, Ron is a proud owner of eight golf courses that fall under the umbrella name of Ron Jaworski Golf. They include:

  • Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
  • Back Creek Golf Club
  • Downingtown Country Club
  • Honey Run Golf Club
  • Ramblewood Country Club
  • RiverWinds Golf Tennis Club
  • Running Deer Golf Club
  • Valleybrook Country Club

4. Ron was an NFL Quarterback for 17 Years

Ron Jaworski had a 17-year illustrious career playing as a quarterback in a sport where the average career of a pro-NFL player is just over three years. The quarterback role is considered the most sought-after and highest-pressure position in pro football. With his 6-foot-2-inch height and 88kg body, the Polish Rifle was able to fill this role brilliantly. It was in 1973 when the Los Angeles Rams drafted Ron into the NFL where he played with the team until 1977. He then moved to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent most of his playing years.

Due to internal conflicts, Jaw moved to the Miami Dolphins in 1987, but he could not achieve what he wanted. He eventually switched to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1989, where he finally retired as a pro footballer. During his career, he held the record for the most consecutive starts for an NFL quarterback. He was selected for the Super Bowl, and Pro Bowl selections, got an MVP award, and was even inducted into the Eagle Hall of Fame.

5. He is an Author

Ron Jaworski authored the book “The Games That Changed the Game” in 2011, where he delved into the seven games from the past that revolutionized the tactics and strategies used in the NFL. Although the subject was football-focused, Jaworski drew parallels with the business world and how these strategies could be applied by entrepreneurs to tackle challenges.

6. He Still Hurts Over Losing the 1981 Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles made it to their first-ever Super Bowl final in 1981, thanks to the impressive performance of their quarterback Ron Jaworski. However, they couldn’t maintain their winning streak on the day of the big game.

The Eagles faced off against the Raiders, and Jaworski’s pass was intercepted by Rod Martin, a linebacker for the Raiders. Ultimately, the Eagles lost 27-10, a defeat that still haunts Jaworski to this day. It was a moment when the opportunity to crown his efforts slipped through his fingers. He still thinks about that day and wishes things had turned out differently.
