Abby Dahlkemper began playing football quite early. At the age of 12, she joined the youth team of MVLA Avalanche, a popular soccer team at the time. She showed prowess and promise as a defender, winning the hearts of coaches and other players.
She ended up playing for five years with the MVLA Avalanche, developing her confidence in handling the ball and tackling strikers.
In 2010, after leaving the MVLA Avalanche, she started studying at the Sacred Heart Preparatory School and immediately joined the soccer team in the school. In that same year, she was named the winner of the Gatorade California Girls Soccer Player of the Year award. This award was usually given to young girls with an outstanding and very promising future in soccer.

Dahlkemper began her professional football career in 2013 when she signed with the Pali Blues, an American football club playing in the W-League. As her manner has always been, she made incredible contributions to the club as soon as she came, helping the team to win the Western Conference title and the national championship in July that year.
Two years later in 2015, she was selected by the Western New York Flash, another American football club, in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. She emerged as the third overall pick. In 2017, the Western New York Flash was sold off to the owners of the North Carolina Courage, another American football club. Following this development, Abby became part of the North Carolina Courage the same year.
At the North Carolina Courage, Abby played every game for the team during her first season in 2017 and proved just how resilient and tactical she was as a defender. Applying her special skills on the pitch, she ended up helping the club win the NWSL Shield. 4. She Became The Third American International Player To Join Manchester City
In mid-January 2021, the defender signed a 2-and-a-half-year deal with English FA WSL side Manchester City. She became the 3rd American international to do so after the club signed Sam Mewis and Rose Levelle.
5. Dahlkemper Represented The US At Various Youth Levels Before Making It To The Senior Team
Abby has represented America in different youth teams including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams. She was called up to play in the U-23 team in 2013 to represent her country at the 2013 Four Nations Tournament. She went on to help the team eventually win the championship.
In 2014, she repeated the feat after appearing for the U-23 team again to play at the 2014 Six Nations Tournament. She won the tournament for the second time in a row.
