Aleesha Young is a 40-year-old American bodybuilder that is reckoned for winning the NPC USA Championships in 2014 and the Chicago Pro Championships in 2019. The 5 feet 3-inch tall mother of one comes from an athletic family and is known to have been involved with several sports from an early age.
Aleesha Young’s Early Life and Career Background
Aleesha Young was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 10, 1984. She started to develop muscle very early in life and by the time she turned 5, boys were teasing her about her biceps. While she was in high school, Aleesha said that she tried her hand at basketball and soccer but was a bit too aggressive for the sports. She also participated in other varieties of sports like cheerleading, gymnastics, arm wrestling, and weightlifting.
As earlier stated, Aleesha is from an athletic family. Her brother plays ice hockey and American football while her sister plays ice hockey for Boston College. Aleesha has also said that her father is a former bodybuilding contender that competed for many years. Besides, at the age of 15, her father offered to train her in bodybuilding and she obliged. A year after she began training with her dad, she joined the weightlifting squad at her high school and took part in her first powerlifting competition, winning first place in her weight division. After that, Young continued to succeed in bodybuilding and powerlifting and finally won a scholarship to study at Weber State University, where she kept up her training and competitions.
Throughout her adolescent years, Aleesha battled with her body image
Despite her athletic success, Young’s upbringing wasn’t without its difficulties. Throughout her adolescence and early adult years, she battled with her body image. Aleesha once said that she desired to be a petite girl and did not enjoy being muscular. She despised it to the point that she became a vegetarian and started running many miles a day just to lose muscle. The strategy did not work and she had to make a conscious effort to embrace and accept her body. She was able to utilize these encounters as inspiration, though, and improved both physically and emotionally. Today, she serves as an inspiration to those who experience similar problems and is evidence that even the most difficult obstacles can be overcome with perseverance.
The American bodybuilder went pro in 2008
Young began training out with her father when she was just 15 years old, as was previously said. This made her gain the expertise she required in order to enter the bodybuilding profession in 2008. Although male athletes have long ruled the bodybuilding world, Aleesha Young is one woman who has succeeded in making a name for herself in this fiercely competitive field against all odds. She won the USA Championships of the National Physique Committee in 2014, which was a tremendous accomplishment since she went pro.
