Alex Morgan was born on July 2, 1989, at San Dimas, California, the U.S to parents identified as Michael T. Morgan and Pamela S. Morgan. She grew up with two older sisters identified as Jeni and Jeri Morgan.
According to reports, she developed an interest in playing soccer since from her childhood and she was greatly inspired by her father who began coaching her since at that tender age as she initially started playing with the AYSO.
Morgan attended the Diamond Bar High School for her high school education. While at high school, she joined the school’s soccer team and became a three-time All-American given to her by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
After her High School education, Morgan proceeded to the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Political Economy. Again, in college Morgan played for the college team known as the California Golden Bears as she played a vital role in the team, helping the Golden Bears towards reaching the NCAA Tournament for four years consecutively and became the first Golden Bear player to be in the top three finalists in the Hermann Trophy awards.
Morgan finished her collegiate career being the third all-time goalscorer having scored 45 goals for the Golden Bears.
Alex Morgan Professional Soccer Career
Having ranked the third-highest goalscorer in her college days, it was apparent that Morgan had laid a very solid foundation for herself before starting her professional club career. On this premise, Morgan joined the West Coast FC from 2008 to 2009 even though she made only 2 appearances and netted 2 goals for the club before she left the club for the California Storm.
By 2010, Morgan joined the Storm where she played only 3 games but scored 5 goals for the team. Her stay with the Storm was quite brief; she left the team later in the same year and moved to the Pali Blues where she played in 3 matches and scored a single goal for the club.
On January 14, 2011, Morgan was the first overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft as she was drafted by the Western New York Flash. As a result of this, the Thorn placed sixth at the end of the season. Morgan was able to make a total of 36 appearances and scored 15 goals for the team before leaving the club in 2015.
Morgan then joined the Orlando Pride in 2016. She featured in 15 games and netted four goals in her first season. Eventually, on January 5, 2017, Morgan went on loan to the French side, Lyon. She made her debut with the team in the 2016–17 Division 1 Féminine match against En Avant de Guingamp. Morgan made a total of 8 appearances scoring 5 goals for the team before returning back to Orlando Pride.

International Career
Alex Morgan has ably represented her country to the best of her ability. She made her first appearance for the under-20 team during the match against Cuba in the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship in Mexico, where she scored her first international goal in that match and helped the team to claim the gold medal in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Chile. Her efforts earned her the Bronze boot as she emerged as the third-highest goal scorer as well as the Silver Ball as the tournament’s overall second-best player.
