There was a national manhunt for the suspects and they were featured on America’s Most Wanted. According to witnesses, she urged Dejongh to get rid of the victim as he spoke to her in a way she didn’t like.
Anna and Dejongh were later captured while he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. And was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment, the charges against Anna were dropped as there wasn’t enough evidence to convict her.
