Who is Anna Rawson?
Anna Rawson was born in Adelaide, Australia on the 5th of August 1981. She and her brother Willy Rawson were raised by their father due to a tragedy that occurred in their family when Anna was really young. Her father (Jim Rawson) divorced her mother (Dianna Rawson) and she fell into depression. Dianna was in a mental hospital for a while but later committed suicide when Anna was just 5 years old and this made her childhood a little rough. S
he had to deal with the loss, suicide, and growing up without her mother. She looked up to her father in many ways and he was one of the reasons she loved sport as Jim was a former SANFL footballer in Glenelg.
Anna confessed that she started playing golf so as to get close to her father and brother. She also admitted to having a huge crush on one of her brother’s friends who played so she stuck to the sport and started getting better at it.
Anna took up different sports like swimming amongst others. She confessed to using sports especially Golf as an outlet whenever she felt down about her mom. She also took an interest in modeling and acting and took dance lessons for a while.
She attended St. Martin Boarding school and was later homeschooled. She proceeded to Immanuel College, Novar Gardens, Southern Australia, and the University of Southern California graduating in 2004. She admits that her college selection process was naive. For someone who got offers from Ivy League schools like Yale and Harvard and then refuses to go because of the weather.
Anna has also broadened her horizons with the hope of going into business in the future. She bagged an MBA from Columbia University in May 2015.
Her Career Journey as a Golfer
Anna started playing golf as an amateur in 1999. She won titles like ‘Victoria Junior Champion’ and ‘Jack Newton International Junior Classic tournament’. Anna’s golfing career started officially at USC where she led her school team to the national championship where she finished 11th individually.
She also won the MVP title in her college golf team. While she was pretty good at the sports, she didn’t consider turning professional but she was cajoled by her family and friends who didn’t want her to look back on her life with regrets.
Anna played well on the lower-level tours like the US Future tour and LET finishing in the top-10. She then went ahead to try out for the top-level UPGA Tour where she finished in the top 20 at the qualifying school in 2007.
Unfortunately for Anna, she didn’t get strong results in her LPGA Tour. Despite playing for three seasons, she made only 14 cuts in 46 tournaments.
Moreover, Anna speaking in an interview admits that she has always thought of golfers as elegant. The women looked really beautiful, glamorous, and classy while hitting the ball 200 yards.
It comes as no surprise that modeling became her other career choice.
She Also Had A Modeling Career
While her golf career might not yet be the success she hopes for. She seems to be doing well in her modeling career. Anna got into modeling at age 16 when she ended up as a finalist in the Australian ‘Dolly’ magazine cover contest. She began to get different offers and has done various TV commercials. Magazine adverts and some Ramp walks.
Anna didn’t consider giving up golfing or modeling to focus on one. She believes playing golf added more to her brand and business as a model. As she had the opportunity to rub shoulders with top-level managers and CEO’s and even the opportunity to ‘pick their brains’.

Anna Rawson Has Since Been Married
In June 2010, Anna got engaged to her long time boyfriend Ted Chervin. Ted is the head of ‘Worldwide Television in International Creative Management in Los Angeles. He proposed with a big rock at Four Season hotel, Hawaii. The couple finally got married in 2013. Ted is very supportive of his wife’s career.
Although they do not have children yet, they seem to be enjoying their ‘happily ever after’.
