Born in Springfield, Missouri, 20-year-old Ashlyn Krueger announced herself as a young rising tennis star in America when she became the first American player to win the Orange Bowl 16s and 18s title consecutively since Bianca Andreescu last achieved the feat in 2014 and 2015. She is the daughter of former college tennis player Franchel Kruger who played for Iowa State in the early 1990s.
