The soccer star was born as Beni Tangama Baningime in 1998 on the 9th of September in Kinshasa the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. Baningime comes from a very supportive family and has a younger brother who plays as a forward for Wigan Athletic Football Club.
He was raised in DR Congo until the age of eight when his family decided to move to England. He attended his primary school at St. Jude’s and obtained a high school education at St. John Fisher both in the Wigan Greater Manchester area of England.
Growing up in a family that loved football, he has had a passion for the sport since he was a kid and so when he was only 9, he joined Everton Academy where he continued to improve himself. By the time he graduated from the academy, he had already earned the Premier League 2 and the Dallas Cup titles. More so, he was named the Player of the Year of the Everton F.C. Reserves and Academy for the 2016/2017 season.
In 2017, he was promoted to the senior team of the club and made his debut for the club’s senior team in a League Cup against Chelsea before proceeding to make a half-time debut premier league appearance against Leicester City.
In 2018 he signed a contract keeping him in Everton till May 2022. However, an ankle sprain in October 2018 during the pre-season visit to Austria, stirred Silva to knock Baningime out of contention during the preseason, sending him back to train with the youngsters. This move raised controversy around the actual reasons why the club’s manager Marco Silva may be sidelining the player and his prompt loan to Wigan Athletic for the rest of the 2018/2019 football season in January 2019.
As regards his international career, Beni Baningime revealed he is still yet to decide on whether he will be playing for his home country or for the Three Lions, as for now, he is all about trying to develop himself on the club level. Also, the Congolese midfielder revealed back in 2017 that he was going to decide on the country he would play for together with his father. That said, he is eligible to play for both DR Congo and England.
