The World Cup opening ceremony remains one of the most exciting events before the tournament. In fact, while many have their eyes on the golden cup, a large number can’t afford to miss the colorful display of music, dance and fireworks.
The ceremony will kick-start on November 20, 2022, at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar. As such, a number of international acts across nations have been invited to headline the ceremony. Among this list includes; Kim Jung Kook, Black Eyed Peas, Nora Fetehi, J Blavin, and Lil baby.
Even though celebrities like Shakira, Dua Lipa, and Rod Stewart have been speculated to be on the list. One may just have to wait for FIFA’s official list.
Meet All the Star Performers at the 2022 World Cup Opening Ceremony
1. Kim Jung Kook
- Age: 49 years old
- Genre: K.Pop
- Occupation: Singer and actor
The South Korean singer, Kim will be performing at the 2022 World Cup Ceremony. He made an official confirmation via his Twitter account. Asides from his performance, the K-pop star’s song will be featured as part of the soundtrack.
Kim Jung Kook is one celebrated artist with enviable achievements across Korea and Asia. He is a recipient of awards including; 3 Golden Disk Awards, 2 Seoul Music Awards, 2 KBS Music Awards, 2 SBS Music Awards, 2 MBC Music Awards, MBC Best 10 Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Award, and Melon Music.
2. Black Eyed Peas
The American musical group best known as the Black Eyed Peas is another dynamic group set to perform at the World Cup opening ceremony.
They have been in existence since 1995 and continue to give exceptional tunes until this day. With rappers like Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap, Taboo, and singer J. Rey Soul, they have sold over 80 million records and are recognized as the best-selling group of all time.
3. Nora Fatehi

With Nora’s selection as a performer at the 2022 World cup, she becomes the first Southeast Asian to brace the star-studded stage. She will be featured in the World Cup song titled; Light The Sky in collaboration with artists like; RedOne, Manal, Balqees, and Rahma Riad.
Nora isn’t just known for her work in the Indian Film Industry but is also a singer who has collaborated with high-profile artists like Rayvanny and the Moroccan hip-hop group Fnaire.

4. J Blavin

The 2022 World Cup opening ceremony will be laced with a bit of Reggae all thanks to the Colombian singer and songwriter J Blavin.
Known to be the Prince of Reggaeton, Blavin has won several awards such as 11 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 6 Latin Grammy Awards, 5 MTV Video Music Awards, and 7 Latin American Music Awards. He is also the first Latino to front world events such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Lollapalooza.
5. Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie

Yet another Reggae crooner popularly known as Patoranking has been listed as one of the 2022 FIFA World Cup performers.
The Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer is no less than his specially coiled name. He stands as one of the best reggae-dancehall musicians in Africa with awards like; Best Dancehall Artist in the 2016 AFRIMA, Best New Act in the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, and Best Raggae in the 2014 Ben TV Awards
6. Lil Baby

- Genre: Hip-hop, trap, southern hip-hop
- Occupation: Rapper, singer, songwriter
The American rapper best known as Lil Baby will also be making his mark on the World Cup Stage. He has gained massive attention since his official soundtrack release for the World Cup titled The World Is Yours to Take.
The Atlanta-born rapper is known for his special tunes which have earned him a number of awards including; the MTV Video Music Award and 2 BET awards.
In line with the above star performers, some of Qatar’s local dancers and singers will also be featured. While FIFA is yet to officially release the complete list of performers for the opening ceremony, we garnered that other celebrities like Kiss Daniel, Davido, DJ Aseel, Hassan Shakosh, Julian Marley, Aisha, Trinidad Cardona, Gims, Nicki Minaj, Maluma, Myriam Fares, and Miami will be performing during the event.
