Adames was born and raised in Elias Piña, Comendador, Dominican Republic. From an interview, it was discovered that Adames comes from a family of 35 brothers and sisters born to different mothers. He has said that in spite of the huge number of his siblings, they all get along well and have supported his boxing career.
2. His Older Brother Encouraged Him to start Boxing
When Adames was 12, one of his older brothers saw him using his fists and took him to a local gym and that was how he fell in love with boxing at a tender age. In his subsequent match, he won another vacant title, defeating Patrick Lopez via technical knockout in the fourth round to win the WBA Fedelatin title.
In July 2017, he defeated welterweight contender Carlos Molina by unanimous decision (110–98, 110–98, 109–99) after eleven rounds.
