These injuries played a role in his inability to be drafted out of college. Initially based on projections and analysis from NFL experts and analysts, he was projected to be a 4th or 7th round pick. However, others said he would go undrafted and be signed as an undrafted free agent.
At the end of the day, the latter projection worked. Despite being a top hopeful due to his talent, he was drafted because of his injuries and other issues off-field. He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on 30th April 2017.
While with the New York Giants, he played mostly as a backup tackle. Moreover, he was waived by the team and reverted to the injured reserve list in August 2019. The following month, he was waived from the list and was given an injury settlement.
