Crystal Dunn is an American award-winning footballer who has stunned football lovers over the years with her very impressive skills and stamina on the pitch. Dunn plays for Gotham FC and also for the US national team.

Biography Of Crystal Dunn
Crystal Alyssia Dunn was born to Vincent and Rhonda Dunn on July 3, 1992, in New Hyde Park, New York, United States. She was raised alongside Henry her brother at Rockville Centre, New York. She figured out her place in football quite early and was dedicated to it.
At South Side High School, she played as a midfielder and became Captain in 2008 and 2009. At South Side, she and her other teammates participated in the New York Championships in 2006, 2007, and 2009. In the 2009 state championship match, she scored four goals in the first 20 minutes of the match.
Dunn did quite a lot of exploits while in high school. During her three high school seasons, she scored 46 goals and had 35 assists. She became a highly decorated high school player and ended up earning Parade All-American and New York Player of the Year.
In addition to this, she also earned First-team All-State and All-Long Island honors in 2006, 2007, and 2009. In 2009, Crystal Dunn was named 2009 NSCAA, ESPNRise, and Parade High School All-America and was the New York Gatorade High School Player of the Year.
After high school, Crystal Dunn went on to attend the University of North Carolina where she continued to play football from, 2010 to 2013. During her freshman year, Dunn became the team’s leading player in points with 26, including nine goals and eight assists.
That same year, she also won the Soccer America Freshman of the Year before becoming a 2010 NSCAA first-team All-America honoree and earning the Second-team Soccer America MVP selection, and First-team All-ACC.

Dunn’s time at the University of North Carolina was marked with lots of success. By the time she graduated, she was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
Crystal Dunn’s Professional Career
Crystal Dunn kickstarted her professional career in January 2014 when she was selected by Washington Spirit as the first overall pick in the 2014 College Draft for the 2014 season of the National Women’s Soccer League. Dunn went on to do great exploits with the Washington Spirit. During the 2015 season, Dunn bagged a league-leading 15 goals and consequently won the 2015 NWSL, Golden Boot.
That same year, she also won the league’s Most Valuable Player award. These wins made her the youngest player to win both awards at age 23. In total, Crystal Dunn made 58 appearances for the Washington Spirit, banging in 19 goals in the process.
On the 3rd of January 2017, Dunn joined FA WSL 1 club Chelsea and hit the ground running by scoring the first goal just 12 minutes into her first competitive appearance. She eventually made 15 appearances, scoring 3 goals for Chelsea before joining North Carolina Courage in 2018. In her first season, she was named Player of June and ended the season by being named to the 2018 NWSL Best XI. Dunn made 27 appearances for the club, scoring 12 times.
On October 22, 2020, Crystal Dunn was traded to OL Reign in exchange for Casey Murphy and $140,000 in allocation money. Later that day, she was traded to the Portland Thorns in exchange for an international roster slot, a 2022 first-round draft pick, and $250,000 in allocation money.
Currently, Dunn plays for Gotham FC.
International Career
Apart from playing for different clubs, Crystal Dunn has also played for her country, the USA. In her youth, Dunn competed on behalf of the USA in various national youth teams from 2008 through 2012, including at the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She and her teammates would later win the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.

Dunn received her first call-up to the senior team in 2013 and made her debut for the team in a friendly game against Scotland on February 13.
